Bentley Basset Hound:
Hello!
It is great to be back behind the anchor desk. We have been searching for some
stories to put a smile on your face and I am happy to say we succeeded. Pierre,
what’s our top story?”
Pierre Westie: “Our fierce winter
weather can be dangerous not just for pets but for humans too. A Michigan woman
could very well owe her life to two insistent Labradoodles. They woke their family
up early wanting to go outside, even tugging on their clothes to rush them. The
reason for the panic was obvious when they opened the door. An 80-year-old
woman was on the freezing ground dressed only in her nightgown.
Temperatures
were around 9ยบ F so the family quickly brought her indoors and bundled her up
in blankets. Thankfully, her relieved family showed up and explained they had
been searching for her but couldn’t see her on the ground in the dark. Those
Labradoodles are true heroes!”
Bentley: “Heroes come in all
shapes and sizes. This was proven once again when an abandoned lynx was adopted
by a mother house cat. She was skeptical at first but soon began the same motherly
love she exhibited to her own kittens. These two are different breeds and sizes
but are completely accepting of each other. Sure, the lynx will be much bigger
than its ‘mom’ but don’t a lot of children outgrow their moms?”
Pierre: “I have seen it many
times with animals and humans. Speaking of animals and humans, Delta airline is
cracking down on the influx of fake ‘emotional support’ animals. The lack of
regulation has led to an 84% increase in animal-related issues on flights. Problems
such as biting, urination, aggression and attacks have been reported. You’ve
probably seen pics of emotional support snakes, roosters, ducks and even
miniature horses on planes. It really gets me steamed because I can’t fly unless
I go below and that is not happening!
Although
the new rules are earth-shattering, they are a step in the right direction.
People will have to provide a letter stating their animal can behave and is
properly trained. They will also need to provide a current letter from a mental
health professional along with a shot record for their pet.
How
is the weather looking for air travel this week, Paisley?”
Paisley Weather Lab: “It won’t be as
bitterly cold as it was last week. That arctic blast was crazy but I’m glad to
report the south will be fair and mild. Our temperatures will be normal for
this time of year in the 40 to 60’s F.
The
southwest will also be fair but there will be scattered rain and showers along
the west coast. It is still very cold in the north with snow expected. Over on
the east coast, the northeast will have some scattered showers but will have
some nice days too. Dry and cool weather is expected in the southeast with
Florida once again feeling like Florida in the winter.
As
always, check with the meteorologist in your area for updates or warnings. Have
a grrr-eat week!”
Bentley: “Thank you for
fetching your news from BFTB NETWoof news. We appreciate it and hope that you
stop by each day to see what we are doing. This week we are reviewing my new
bed, sharing some laughs and discussing some health tips. Seriously, you don’t
want to miss any of this so why don’t you have us delivered right to your
mailbox? Fill out your email and we will be waiting for you in the morning!
Have
a terrific day and be sure to grab yourself some happy.”

yay for the two labradoodles... it is amazing to see what fabulous senses our furlegged friends have.... we had a storm warning for the weekend... and nothing happened... although the weatherguy was wrong and caused a lot of work, we are grateful that it was false alarm...
ReplyDeleteWe think we could be 'support animals'.....but only in First Class. Those 'doodles are heroes. Good for them.
ReplyDeleteOh well done to those Labradoodles!!!!
ReplyDeleteBeing a Princess I could expect to travel furst class to support my peeps, hehe (well, if they ever traveled furst class that is!)
Loves and licky kisses

Boy, the old woman was sure lucky to have been found. Around here someone seems to freeze to death every year...often when they have been out drinking, or sometimes the elderly with memory issues wander off and freeze. Sad situations but your story ended well.
ReplyDeleteBless those Labradoodles!
ReplyDeleteThose are great news stories! Thanks guys!
ReplyDeleteWe are glad that finally someone is cracking down on fake service dogs. We have seen some awful behavior from poorly trained dogs and it gives all dogs a bad reputation
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the labra-duo heros! We're hoping the elderly lady fully recovers. The whole fake service/therapy dog phenomena really gets my dander up. When veterans are forced to exit restaurants with their PTSD and service dog in hand, it really cheeses me off. It's always a few that ruin it for many. *Sigh*
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful week!
That lady was lucky that those Labradoodles found her. I'm glad Delta is finally going to crack down on emotional support animals, people have definitely been abusing the system.
ReplyDeleteMOLMOLMOL bring your humans inside you surely heard mom giggle over that one
ReplyDeleteHugs madi your bfff
Great news report and of course Paisley does a bang up job on the weather. We are not surprised the two Doods are heros!
ReplyDeleteKeep Calm & Bark On!

It sure seems like a stretch to think that a snake could give emotional support...ugh! People need to stop taking advantage of things. If only everyone could just follow the rules, things would be much easier for everyone.
ReplyDeleteLove the labradoodles story...great job by them!
Jan, Wag 'n Woof Pets
Thank goodness for those two labradoodles!! They are heroes!
