Tips for a Great Dog Walk

January is officially Walk Your Dog Month. I’m not sure why they would pick the month with snow and sub-freezing temperatures. It probably is to motivate humans to keep their New Year’s resolution to get in shape! Whatever the reason, it is always a great time to walk your best friends.

Tips for a Great Walk
• Always have poop bags to clean up after your dog.
• Keep your dog on a leash unless you’re in an off-leash park.
• Bring water and a collapsible bowl.
• Small treats can be a wonderful walk to incorporate training with exercise.
• Watch your dog for signs of distress or tiredness.
• Never pull on your dog’s collar as you could cause damage to their neck.
• Protect their paws from extreme cold or heat with Pawz® or Jelly Wellies booties.

  14. Talk about irony! Luckily the dogs at the Ranch can't read a calendar so we walk no matter what it says. 😊
