BFTB NETWoof News July 9, 2018

Bentley Basset Hound: “Hello and welcome to BFTB NETWoof News and weather for the week of July 9, 2018. We have scoured the world for the best animal news and as always, we have avoided politics 100%. Let’s check in with my co-anchor Pierre for today’s top story.”

Pierre Westie: “This one had us all laughing in the newsroom. It seems two 6-year-old Lab/Mastiff dogs that live on a five-acre farm in Virginia tend to get themselves into mischief. It happened again in June when their owner found a hand-written note in their mailbox from the neighborhood letter carrier. It explained that both dogs had crawled into her truck and ate her lunch which consisted of an egg, some carrots and pumpkin seeds. The letter went on to express concern over the boys’ tummies. She knew her dogs had done wrong, so she bought the letter carrier a gift card to Subway along with an apology from the boys.
In my opinion, letter carriers could pose a threat but if they have edibles on board, then they can’t be all bad! I also think these two dogs will strike again!”

Bentley: “Karma can be deadly. That is what a gang of poachers who illegally entered a reserve in South Africa intent on killing rhinos for their horns recently found out. A pride of lions killed two, possibly three of them. The poachers were armed with high-powered rifles equipped with silencers, an axe, wire cutters and food to last several days.
Rhino horns are used in traditional Chinese medicines and prized for their medicinal value. There is no science to back up these claims but the belief is killing rhinos. Poachers cut off their horns causing them to bleed to death or they just kill them and take the horns. Karma and a pride of lions said, “Not this time.”
Pierre: “We know this embedded Twitter clip is unusual for us but after you watch it, we think you’ll agree that it was necessary! This is a shout-out to all of our feline pals. Stay awesome my friends and always show your human who rules the roost!”

Bentley: “Speaking of our cat buddies, there is always so much talk about dogs during the summer months but remember, cats get hot too! Ideally, cats should be indoors during the hottest part of the day. If that isn’t an option, make sure your cat has access to fresh water and shade. An elevated bed under a patio is nice since it will allow air to flow around your kitty and be out of the direct sun. How does your feline bestie stay cool during these scorching days?
Let’s check with Paisley to find out if any of us get a reprieve from the heat.”
BFTB NETWoof Weather with Weather Lab Paisley
Paisley the Weather Lab: “Hello everyone! Unfortunately, it is going to be another week of high temperatures but some areas will get some rain to help cool things off a bit.
If you look at the map, you’ll see the West Coast and the Pacific Northwest is going to be nice and sunny. The temps will be cooler in Washington state so enjoy yourselves! Across the northern states, it will be warm with isolated storms. Those of you in the Northern Atlantic area will love your nice sunny week.
So where are the storms, you ask? The east coast will see midweek storms and Florida can expect it to be muggy with scattered storms. Most of the southern states will be sunny and hot but scattered showers are always possible along the Gulf Coast. Those of you in the southwest know you are in the monsoon season so keep an eye to the sky for thunderstorms. You also want to be careful during those crazy dust storms! The center of the country will be mostly sunny and hot too. What can I say, it’s mid-summer in America.
Have a great week and always tune into your local stations for weather updates or warnings in your area.”
Bentley: “Thanks for joining us for BFTB NETWoof News. We hope to see you all week as we explore more fun topics and discover new products. In the meantime, have a wonderful day and be sure to grab yourself some happy.”

  14. Bwahaha...that Tweet was priceless. Talk about unflappable. I think there is a moral to the postal carrier about leaving the lunch cart unattended. 😂 We heard about the karma story and decided Schadenfreude is absolutely appropriate in this case.
