• Pierre is fast as greased lightning. Bentley is slower than frozen molasses. If a toy is involved, Pierre will always get it first but when it comes to food, Bentley will win every time.
• Bentley has long ears that drag the ground. Pierre has short ears that stick straight up on his head. Both can hear a cheese wrapper from anywhere in the house.
• When posing for photos, Pierre looks this way and Bentley looks that way. It is not just once in a while, it is every time they see the camera. We refer to it as the “Push Me-Pull Me syndrome. They think it is hilarious.
• Bentley SHEDS 24/7/365. Everything I own has at least some hound hair on it. Luckily, he enjoys being brushed with our FURminator and that really helps.
Pierre on the other paw, emit white hair bunnies that glide across the floor and hide under anything that rises 1” off the floor. They are shy little fluffs and will do their best to evade capture. He loathes being brushed but looks so cute when he is all puffed out.
• When they want attention or a scratch, Bentley will “hound” us relentlessly. He still considers himself a lap dog and doesn’t think twice about climbing on us.
As you can see in this video, Pierre will “terrier-ize” us until he has had his fill of belly scratches.
It is so funny that in spite of all their differences, the Bayou Boys are best friends. They don’t snuggle with each other because they are way too cool for that but on occasion, they do use each other for pillows. They are the perfect combination of fun and love for us.

that is the main thing ... to be best friends... we are very different although we look the same... and to buy identic collars was the weirdest idea the mama ever had hahahaha
ReplyDeleteWe are all very similar, but also very different. I think most dogs find it amusing to look in opposite directions when posing for a photo to watch the human go nuts. Glad you guys have each other.
ReplyDeleteI know all about those dustbunnies gliding across the floor, Pierre! We love that you boys are bestest friends☺
ReplyDeleteLove Love love this post.
ReplyDeletePierre...I do the same thing when mom is scratching my head. First time or two she stops I'll gently paw her hand. Then I get serious...she is not a fan of my cold wet nose....that is my ultimate weapon for attention.
Hugs madi your bfff
Our pups each had their own personalities too, even though they were all cockers.

ReplyDeleteClearly, you two give your mom the best of both worlds. You have great technique, P. I think this is what Mom means when she talks about communication skills. You've got it down. I'm still waiting for Mom to learn to read my mind.
