BFTB NETWoof News October 29 2018

Bentley Basset Hound: “Hello and welcome to BFTB NETWoof News for the last week of October. We have fetched more good news to put a smile on your face and I know we can all use that after the past week. Let’s throw it over to my co-anchor Pierre for our top story.”

Pierre Westie: “Today is National Cat Day so we wanted to start the broadcast off by wishing all of our feline friends a wonderful day! Cats are amazing. I hope all of you are getting extra rubs, treats, and some primo nip to celebrate being fabulous. Knock a glass off the counter if it makes you happy. It is YOUR day so make it purr-fect.”

Bentley: “Speaking of perfect, a dog in Oklahoma had the perfect scam going until her mom caught her.
Betsy Reyes said her dog, Princess, had been sneaking out at night and heading for the local McDonald’s. She would stand out in the parking lot looking sad and homeless. People were giving her burgers until Betsy realized what her best friend was doing. She posted on Facebook for people to please quit feeding her dog that she is not homeless and is indeed running a burger scam!
Let me just say that I don’t know Princess, but she has my unwavering support and respect. You can watch her Mom’s undercover video here.”

Pierre: “Princess had it going on there for a while! How far is it to our local Whataburger anyway? I'm asking for a friend.
The pup in our next story had a very different problem this week. Binx was returned to the Arizona Animal Welfare League and SPCA only 48 hours after being adopted. The reason? He was too good of a dog. He got along well with the kids, the other dogs, was potty-trained and loved to play. The people wanted more of a challenge.
Are you kidding me with this news story, Bentley? Those folks should NEVER be allowed to adopt another dog. Can you imagine how confused Binx is to think he has a forever family, he is doing everything right and still gets returned to the shelter? We hope he finds a home that will love and appreciate him for being a good boy.”

Bentley: “I’ll never understand some people but I’m sure Binx will find a loving home.
A black cat named Julie wandered away from her loving home back in 2012. Her owner’s mother looked everywhere for the small ebony feline but had to stop the search when her son, Julie’s owner, was diagnosed with lymphoma.
She recently spotted an online post describing a stray that sounded like Julie. Even after all this time, they had never given up hope that their sweet cat was still alive. Thinking they had about a 1% chance of it really being Julie, but they went to see for sure.
The stray had a unique white spot exactly like their cat and when the boy, who is now cancer-free, called her name, the tiny cat came running up to him! The woman who had posted the ad said the cat would never come close to any of them. The boy and his cat are so happy to be reunited. He isn’t sure who all helped Julie over the past six years, but she was in remarkably good health. We think Julie’s wandering days are behind her.
Let’s check in with Paisley to find out this week’s forecast.”
BFTB NETWoof Weather with Paisley the Weather lab
Paisley the Weather Lab: “I’m happy to say our forecast looks delightful for the first half of the week. If your little ghoul or goblin is planning on going trick or treating, I believe most of y’all with have boo-tiful weather.
Scattered showers and even some wintery mix are all heading for us midweek. If you live in the northern states, there is a possibility of rain mixed with snow to give November a chilly start. The showers will start in the middle of the week in central and southern states. Rain will come later in New England and along the east coast.
The beautiful weather is happening in the western U.S. with warm and sunny days. It’ll be nice along the west coast with a few showers predicted for Washington state.
I hope you have a terrific week. Always check with your local weather stations for updates or any warnings. If you participate in Halloween festivities, be safe and have a spooktacular time!”
Bentley: “Thank you for joining us for BFTB NETWoof News. We hope everyone that participates in Halloween has a safe and fun-filled time. Remember to keep your pets inside where they are safe. If you are going to be answering the front door, you might want to put the dogs and cats in another room so they don’t accidentally slip out.
We have some fun posts for you this week including the long-anticipated review of our illumiseen collars and leashes! Have an awesome day and be sure to grab yourself some happy.”

  18. Oh my goodness, the story of Binx at AWL in Arizona make my blood boil! Don't people realize how horrible it is for pets to get returned to a shelter!? It can set them back tremendously and break their spirit. Awful, stupid people - I hope they don't ever get the opportunity to adopt another pet, they don't deserve one! Ugh.
