Bentley Basset Hound: “Hello and welcome to this week’s BFTB NETWoof News. We are bringing you some good news to put a smile on your face. What’s our top story, Pierre?”
Pierre Westie: “Our top story involves an update on a very, very sick Westie. ME! I want to thank everyone for the love and prayers. It was a week that none of us want to live through again. In case you missed the story, you can read Our Poor Little Guy to find out what was wrong with me.
I am happy to report that my tummy feels better and the peeps are keeping me on a strict diet of only my prescription food and some boiled chicken for a treat. Your concern made me feel really loved.”
Bentley: “I am glad to have my partner back and I’m super happy that whatever you had was not contagious!
We all love a great rescue story, and this is one for the books. Let me start at the beginning when a 10-year-old girl received a puppy from her grandmother. The two were best friends for the next four years. That is when her father began working from home. The dog, Chloe, was a barker and that did not go well with her father’s new job. The constant barking was putting his job at risk so the difficult decision was made to rehome Chloe. When that didn’t work, they took her to the local animal shelter. The young girl was heartbroken.
Fast forward seven years and the girl has become a twenty-one-year-old and looking to adopt a dog for her own little girl. That’s when a friend posted a senior dog that looked like her Chloe. She decided to give this dog a home. Imagine her surprise when the dog’s name was also Chloe! She was also the same age that her childhood dog would be now. Weird, huh? Hold on, it gets weirder. The dog had the same energy and both loved giving kisses.
The woman’s husband insisted those details were just coincidences, but she wasn’t convinced. Could this senior dog really be her beloved Chloe? She took the dog to the vet for a chip scan and guess what?!? It WAS her pup that she loved so much, only older with a few less teeth. How is that for a Christmas miracle?”
Pierre: “We did a double-take on this story. Federal agents discovered over 70 live finches hidden in hair rollers in a duffel bag at JFK airport. The birds were detained under quarantine and the passenger was barred from entering the country.
You are probably wondering the same thing we were…why would someone smuggle finch? They are used for gambling purposes. People bet on which bird will chirp the loudest or how many times the bird will chirp in one minute. No matter how many humans we know, they continually amaze us with the things they do to animals for money.”
Bentley: “We had an amazing turnout for my eleventh birthday giveaway! Congratulations to Jackie P. our grand prize winner and to Rose R. our second winner. Thanks to everyone for entering and we promise to have another pawsome giveaway soon!
Let’s check with our Weather Lab for this week’s weather.
Paisley the Weather Lab: “Hi y’all! We are welcoming winter on Friday, but it seems it might have come a bit early for those of you in the north. It will be cold with a wintry mix all week.
Rain is in the forecast for the Pacific Northwest and midweek to late week storms along the east coast.
It’ll be windy in the Rockies. The center of the country will be sunny and mild. The south and southwest is going to be sunny with a few clouds.
Enjoy your week and don’t let the Christmas rush get the better of you.”
Bentley: “On behalf of the BFTB news team, I want to thank you for stopping by today. We appreciate your support and would love for you to share us with your friends.
We are going to be catching up on some things this week. With Pierre being so sick, most of last week was spent caring for him. Stop by each day because we have some last-minute Christmas ideas and holiday tips to make this your best Christmas ever!
Have a wonderful week and be sure to grab yourself some happy.”

I'm so glad that they found each other back after so much years, but we don't understand her parents... there are other ways too than to give the dog away... and I know that would be something I couldn't forgive my parents... Pierre we are so happy that you feel better and that you can welcome Santa now with a wild wagging terrier tail ;O)
ReplyDeleteThank dog Pierre is alright. Mom was a wreck when she heard how sick he was. She is a bit over the top when anything is wrong right now, and we were all so worried. Don't do that stuff again, Pierre!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are doing better Pierre!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is just the bestest news ever, Pierre! And we are sooooooooo happy for Chloe and her girl♥

We are glad to hear that you are feeling better, Pierre! I hope those finches are okay, and that they'll be rehomed back in their native country.

ReplyDeleteWe are all so very happy to hear that Pierre is doing well. Keep it up, buddy.
ReplyDeleteThat was a great rescue story - what a small world!!
Finches for gambling/??? That is a very bizarre tale. Mom is wanting to get a singing canary. She hasn't had one for years, but no one around here has any. They say it is too cold to ship birds. Maybe Santa will delay an arrival until the spring.
