Pierre Westie: “Thanks, Bentley. We
are starting out this newscast with a report about a truly remarkable woman. Her
name is Maisie Green and she is 89-years-young. Dogs Trust rehoming in
Basildon, England has recognized her for knitting and donating around 450 blankets
and sweaters for their shelter dogs. It takes her three days to knit a blanket,
but she can whip up a doggie sweater in one day! What a wonderful way to turn a
hobby into a gift for others.”

The pair were required to jump on board a HH-60G Pave Hawk helicopter and perform several hoists. They wear protective eye and ear wear to keep rotor wash, sea spray, foreign debris or engine noise from causing the dogs any harm. You can watch them in action on this video. We salute this dynamic explosive detection duo for keeping our ports and waterways safe.”

She rushed outside screaming and began to battle the bird with a pillow. It took three good hits before the hawk dropped the Yorkie and flew away. Thankfully, a quick visit to the vet showed the dog would be fine. The people will be keeping a much closer eye on their little friends when they are in their yard.”
Bentley: “We want to thank everyone for entering our Dr. Harvey’s Sweet Potate’r Chews giveaway. While we think you are all winners, only one person can receive the tasty chews and that is Linda S.! Congratulations and we look forward to hosting another fantastic giveaway soon!
Paisley, what is weather looking like for the end of February?”
Paisley the Weather
Lab:
“It has been quite a wacky week for our weather. We had snow from Washington to
Wyoming, flooding in the deep south, a tornado in Mississippi, and a blizzard barreling
through the Midwest. Can you believe it snowed in Las Vegas?!?! Our week ahead
is another hodgepodge thanks to a severe weather moving across the east.
Showers
on the menu for the Pacific Northwest, New England, Florida and the West coast.
It’ll be mild in the southwest and the south will enjoy a nice first half of
the week. If you are part of middle America, expect it to be pretty nice. Those
in the east coast can count on sun with a few puffy clouds.I know some of you are getting sick and tired of the snow and the rain. It is understandable but remember, spring is only 28 days away! Be sure to stay tuned to your local weather for any updates or warnings.”
Bentley: “We really enjoyed a beautiful Sunday and even though we have some rain forecast, I’m really looking forward to sniffing all of those spring flowers!
It was great having you visit us today and we hope that you stop by each day for something new, funny, or inspirational. I’d love for you to follow us on all of our social media and share us with your friends.
Have a terrific week and be sure to grab yourself some happy.”

yes Evy and Ricky look fantabulous cool! and we are glad to have such wonderful people like Maisie Green in our world...
ReplyDeleteI know hawks are not that common around here, but when we are tiny pups, Mom is always watching us like hawks so no hawk comes in to grab us. How very scary! Have a fun week!
ReplyDeleteWow! Evy and Ricky are PAWsome!
ReplyDeleteMaisie Green is an incredible peep! Bless her many times over. Stoopid hawks!
ReplyDeleteBravo bravo!! Maisie has a big heart and most talented fingers.
ReplyDeleteCrazy weather for sure. We had 9 consecutive days of R A I N. Sun came out and stayed at 1pm yesterday. Hugs Cecilia
We may need to hire a vicious cat if the birds get any bigger around here.
ReplyDeleteWe see more and more hawks around here. We always worried that certain smaller doggies might be mistaken for dinner. Glad that one escaped! (There are always plenty of squirrels they could catch instead!)
ReplyDeleteWe have some Major high winds here in WNY. It's crazy!
There is NO WAY that I can watch that video...makes my break out into a sweat just thinking about it. Hawks, owls, falcons, eagles...they've got to eat, but I wouldn't want my pets to be on their menu!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful for Ms. Green to knit for pups!
ReplyDeleteOn day 3 of steady rain here...we may need an Ark soon!
xoxo,
Rosy, Jakey & Arty
Congrats to Linda S! That helo video was incredible! What amazing dogs.
ReplyDeleteThat must have been so scary for the Yorkie and his human. We have had small dogs snatched by hawks around here too. We are happy to hear he is going to be OK.
ReplyDeleteWoos- Lightning, Misty, and Timber
OMG, I can't believe how calm and relaxed those dogs seemed with their helicopter training!!
ReplyDeleteThe hawks around here aren't that big, so it's surprising that they go after what they think is prey larger than them (like our chickens). We're always on hawk watch here on the farm!
Jan, Wag 'n Woof Pets
Paws up for Ms Green ! Hawks are scary, we have small ones here, but they often attack the neighbor's chickens. Purrs
ReplyDeleteAnother great news cast. Lady's grandma use to knit blankets etc for babies in the hospital. When she realized lady was not having kids, she gave some to her for her dogs lol!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the winner.
