Pierre Westie: “Most people think of
a dog or cat when they imagine a child’s best friend. That is not the case with
this incredible cute duo of an 8-year-old girl and her duck. We actually
reported on this unlikely friendship back in 2016 when the bond was just
beginning.
Snowflake
and her human, Kylie, go everywhere they can together including the park and
sleepovers. In case you’re wondering, Snowflake wears a diaper in the house. She
has signed him up to be a therapy duck and we are sure they will quack up the
sick patients!”
Bentley: “We like to encourage
humans to donate their time to local shelters but the Humane Society of Tampa Bay may have
the best offer around! They are looking for people willing to cuddle dogs after
surgeries. Most of them are being spayed or neutered and waking up in a strange
environment can be very stressful. The touch of a human can help ease that
process. Seriously, is there a better job in the world than cuddling dogs? If
this sounds like something you’d enjoy, give your local shelter a call and see
if they need some cuddlers.”
Pierre:
“You’ve probably all heard the joke about the dog spinning in a circle and
when someone asked the owner about it, he replied, “It’s a watch dog and he is
winding himself!” Well, the truth is dogs can actually tell time with their
noses. That might be why they will go to the window or door when it is time for
you to get home from work. When you leave in the morning, your scent in the house
is very strong. As the day wears on, that smell fades. Your dog recognizes when
your smell reaches a certain faintness, you show back up! Aren’t we amazing?”
Bentley: “Yes, we are and this
next story reinforces that statement. Charlie, an 11-year-old Golden Retriever
lost both of his eyes to glaucoma but he is blessed to have a little buddy to
help him. Maverick is a four-month old puppy that has become Charlie’s best
friend and guide pup. He will put toys in front of Charlie so they can play and
walks close by so his senior bestie doesn’t have any problems getting around.

Paisley the Weather
Lab: “Well,
most of the country is experiencing some nice spring-like weather but our
friends in the north still have a chance of snow. There will be a chance of
scattered showers in the Pacific Northwest but most of the coast will be fair.
Hopping over to the east coast, it will be sunny in New England and nice most
of the way down south. You’ll have a few early storms in the Carolinas but
overall you should be able to get out and enjoy the season.
The
southwest will be sunny and warm continuing along the Gulf coast. We might see
some thunderstorms here in south Texas next weekend but it’s going to be a
beautiful week! The center of the country is looking great too! You’ll have
some mild and breezy days but overall it will be pleasant.”Bentley: “That sounds like a good forecast and I’ll have my Treatibles in case there are any thunderstorms. Hopefully, you have entered for a chance to win a container of these Full Spectrum Hemp Soft Chews but if not, you still have time to do it today!
We
have a big week ahead and hope that you will stop by and visit. Have a great
day and be sure to grab yourself some happy.”

I LOVE the story of Charlie and Maverick!! That is so interesting about how dogs tell time. I always wondered about that. Luke is a little more challenged since neither my hubby nor I really have regular schedules!

I'm convinced the poodle knuckleheads are better than a fine Swiss watch. At least when it comes time to dispense medication during specific times of day.
ReplyDeleteNaturally I was drawn to the therapy duck story. Wonderfully heartwarming!
Wonderful news stories! I saw that little girl and her duck on the news, they are the sweetest little duo! I always wondered how our dogs knew just when we'd return home - I thought they had telepathic abilities, but I guess not. LOL!
