BFTB NETWoof News July 29, 2019

Bentley Basset Hound: “We are happy to see y’all today for BFTB NETWoof News. It has been a busy week so let’s throw it over to Pierre for our top story.”
BFTB NETWoof News Top Story
Pierre Westie: “Thanks, Bentley. If your plane is delayed or luggage is missing at the San Francisco International Airport, you can find some emotional relief with their new Wag Brigade! This group including 22 dogs can be seen wearing blue vests that encourage weary travelers to pet them. As awesome as that is, San Francisco has upped their game by adding the world’s first adorable airport therapy pig! Can we all say, “yes, please!”?”

Good dog news
Bentley: “Two friends were hiking in the Shenandoah National Park when they came upon a spring. Since it was hot, the duo left the trail to enjoy the cool water. As they were leaving, they discovered some wild blackberries. When they reached the ripe berries though, they found something very unexpected.
It was Max, a Golden Retriever that had been missing since July 4th. The poor pup was frightened and appeared to have an injured leg. They gained his trust by offering him a boiled egg, fig bar, and lots of water. Once Max let them get close, they called for help to get him out of the woods. The rangers were very happy to help since they had been hanging posters everywhere for the lost dog. They put him on a stretcher and took him to a vet where he was reunited with his family. Max is doing fine with only a few scrapes from his long ordeal.”

Pierre: “Every once in a while, a child does something that makes a huge difference and Sir Darius Brown is one of those children. His sister taught him to make bowties when he was 8 years old to help him with his fine motor skills. It was fun making bowties for people but that all changed when he saw an SPCA commercial about homeless dogs and cats. That’s when he decided to make a few changes to his bowtie pattern and donate them to shelters. His idea was that dogs and cats wearing bowties are more noticeable and will get adopted faster. We are proud to say that he is making a big difference and is destined for even more great things!”

Bentley: “It’s hard to believe but Back-to-School is only a couple of weeks away here in the south. That is one of the most expensive times of the year for families so getting cashback would be awesome, am I right?
Let me introduce you to Rakuten (formerly Ebates) where your favorite stores offer you cash refunds when you shop online. You get $10 back after your first shopping experience in addition to the percentage the store is offering. You can also earn money when you refer others like I am doing. Seriously, check out how much you can save by doing your shopping through Rakuten. Right now, Macy’s has 20% off and 6% cashback on thousands of markdowns! You are going to shop anyway, why not get paid to do it?
Let’s see if Paisley is forecasting a break in this sizzling heat.”
BFTB NETWoof Weather for July 29, 2019
Paisley the Weather Lab: “It is another week of feast or famine, I’m afraid. Our friends in the west will be hot and sunny while those in the east will have lots of rain and thunderstorms to deal with this week.
Those along the Gulf coast will be hot with isolated or scattered thunderstorms. If you are in the north, expect more heat and humidity. It seems like a great week to stay inside enjoying the air conditioning during the steamy afternoons.
As always, keep tuned to your local weather experts for updates or warnings. Have a wonderful time no matter the weather!”
Bentley: “Thanks so much for joining us this week for BFTB NETWoof News. We’d love for you to share us on your social media since everyone can use some good news these days.
We will be back on Wednesday with a freshly groomed Pierre and lots more fun. Have a great day and be sure to grab yourself some happy!”

  2. That is so pawsome Max was found and will be alright. We never know Rakuten was EBates. We only know we are tired of their TV commercials, but that has nothing to do with whether it is a good deal or not :) Have a good week.

  5. The Shenandoah is a favorite place of ours, but big ... so glad MAX was found, and safely returned to his loved ones! And we may fly into SF just to get some "piglet time" ... how cool is that!
Great news to start the week with ...
Except for more 95, and 95 and ... thought someone said the heat wave was over?

  6. Such a great idea to put ties on shelter animals to help them find homes.

We are having a cold wave down to low 90s today.

  8. I'd heard about the boy making bow ties; I love this! I worry so much when the weather gets extreme, for wildlife suffers. Lucky for The 'O' Cats, our backyard stays shady, and of course under the huge hosta plant leaves is the cool earth, and both Sweetie and The PO'M will nap there in the hottest part of the day.

  10. So happy that dog was found and reunited with his family. Since the missing date was the 4th, must have been fireworks that terrified him. Love the idea of the comfort pig.
