Pierre Westie: “We have four great stories but this landed in the top spot this month.
A toy fox-terrier that disappeared from her South Florida home back in 2007 was recently reunited with her family. Dutchess was found over 1,000 miles away in Pittsburgh. A man discovered the now 14-year-old dog cold, hungry and hiding under a shed on his property. He took the poor pup to the Humane Animal Rescue where her microchip was discovered!
Her owner was beyond excited when she received the phone call of a lifetime. The twelve years of paying that microchip fee in hopes of finding Dutchess finally paid off. She drove from her home in Boca Raton, Florida to Pittsburgh for a heartfelt reunion.
That’s more proof that you should never give up hope”

The Fargo Brewing Company are featuring shelter dogs on their craft beer cans. They are partnering with 4 Luv of Dog in hopes of helping harder to adopt dogs find forever homes. Most dogs featured need to be adopted by families with no other pets.
We love this idea and hope that other companies follow suit. Of course, we’d want them to feature adoptable kitties too.”
Pierre: “It is our policy not to discuss politics unless our government is doing something that benefits animals. I am happy to report the U.S. House recently passed a bill that makes animal cruelty a federal felony.
The bipartisan act known as the PACT stands for Preventing Animal Cruelty and Torture allows authorities to go after wrongdoers with federal jurisdiction and won’t be bound by state law. Right now, federal law only prohibits animal fighting and will only criminalize the perps when they create and sell videos showing the actual animal cruelty.
It boggles the mind that this even has to be brought to a vote. Still, it has to go through the US. Senate which has not even scheduled it for a vote. Grrrrr…
**News Update! The senate has passed the PACT act and it is waiting on the President's signature.”
Bentley: “Houston has its own social media mega-star after a post about it’s newest resident, Quilty. The seven-year-old cat is currently available for adoption at the Friends for Life Animal Rescue and Adoption Organization although they have been flooded with people wanting to adopt him.
Quilty was born at the shelter and adopted but his owner had to return him a few months ago when he moved and couldn’t bring the cat. I’m not sure if Quilty immediately felt at home back in the shelter but he quickly made a name for himself. You see, he would repeatedly let the other cats out of their room and into the shelter’s lobby!
A recent Facebook post went viral and garnered Quilty lots of attention. Don’t worry, if this fun-loving cat isn’t available, there are plenty more waiting for their
Let’s check in with our cousin, Paisley for her segment, Paw-sitively Paisley.”
Paisley: “Hey y’all! I hope your November has started off on a paw-sitive note. It won’t be long before we are celebrating Thanksgiving here in the United States. That means some yummy cooking is going to be happening and there are few things as tempting as a big fat turkey. I just want to share a few things on the Thanksgiving menu that dogs can actually enjoy on the festive holiday.
Thanksgiving Foods Your Dog Can Enjoy
• Sweet Potatoes (no marshmallows)
• Green Beans
• Carrots
• Turkey (no bones)
• Pumpkin (not pie)
I can hardly wait for all the holiday smells to come drifting out of the kitchen! It’s a good thing I’m not a drooler. No offense, Bentley.”Bentley: “No taken. We are looking forward to the holiday season and are planning a gift guide to help find the perfect present for everyone on our Christmas list.
We are always happy to share the monthly badges celebrating the different holidays that our friend over at Zoolatry designs. Feel free to share any or all of them with no credit needed.
Join us next Wednesday as we share some fun Texas experiences that the peeps have recently enjoyed. Until then, be sure to grab yourself some happy.”
