Bentley Basset: “Hello and welcome to September’s BFTB NETWoof news. I’m happy to report that this month had several feel-good stories we are able to share. Maybe it means things are starting to look little brighter in the world. Let’s check in with Pierre for our top story.”
Pierre Westie: “They say dynamite comes in small packages and that is certainly true of our first story.
Bubu is a chihuahua that lives with his eighty-six- year-old Navy Veteran owner on a houseboat in North Carolina. When the man suffered a stroke, our tiny hero ran to the nearby dockmaster and led him back to help. Bubu is credited with saving his owner’s life and is expected to make a full recovery.”
Bentley:
“We love
a happy ever after story when it comes to stray animals so when this one from
Brazil came across the news desk, we were anxious to share it. Perfect for the
upcoming Labor Day.
A
dog in Brazil began hanging around the local Hyundai dealership and the
employees thought it would get bored and move along. The pup had different
ideas. He stayed and one rainy night, the manager brought him indoors. That is
where he decided to stay!
Hyundai
has had a long history of being a dog-friendly company, so it didn’t take much
persuasion for the team to decide and adopt the dog as their official mascot. Now
known as Tucson Prime, you can follow their new ‘pawfessional’ consultant on Instagram. Rumor has it that
he will star in a future commercial.”
Pierre:
“Our
next story is another happily ever after story that involves a handsome black
cat. It is usually difficult to get adopted if you are a black cat but if your
name happens to be Dennis Quaid, it can make a big difference.
That’s
what happed when the actor Dennis Quaid learned that he had a namesake in need
of a forever home. It happened during a Lynchburg Humane Society’s Clear the
Shelter event when he learned the cat was up for adoption. He said that he
simply could not resist. Dennis Quaid is very happy living with Dennis Quaid. Hee hee
hee.”
Bentley:
“Our
last story is about a boar that is definitely not boring!
A
nude sunbather in Berlin, Germany learned the hard way about wild boars. He was
minding his own business when a boar and her two piglets ran by. One of them snatched
his backpack and they made their getaway. The man suddenly became a streaker as
he tried in vain to catch the pigs. Since a wild boar can run 30 miles per
hour, the poor middle-aged guy didn’t stand a chance.
All
I’m saying is if he starts getting emails claiming he is the long-lost heir to
a wild boar dynasty; he might want to check the IP address.
Let’s
check in with Paisley for some pawsitivity!”
Paisley
Lab: “Hi
everyone! Just a quick word to remind y’all to be safe if you are out
celebrating Labor Day this weekend. It is hard to believe that summer is almost
over, but we are looking forward to some cooler weather.
If
you have a great rescue story, don’t forget to enter this year’s #RememberMeThursday
contest. You could win big for your favorite rescue or shelter. The details are
on last week’s blog.
We
also wanted to thank y’all for your concern during last week’s Hurricane Laura.
Thankfully, we were spared from any part of it other than some wind. It didn’t
even rain! Our thoughts and prayers go out to those areas that were hit hard. The
Houston area knows and understands.”
Bentley:
“We
hope you enjoyed our news. Please share our link with your friends and family.
Everyone could use some good news.
Take
care and be sure to grab yourself some happy!”
