woman sitting on bench
I was sitting out on the back patio yesterday thinking of some of the awesome new products that we’ve found this year. Since we are halfway through 2018, I thought it’d be fun to look back at some of our favorites. These are things that I wish I’d thought of but am very glad someone else invented them!

It's a Fun-tastic Friday

We are joining our feline friends 15 and Meowing and Four-Legged Furballs for Friendly Fill-Ins blog hop. Visit their blogs and others for some great answers.
1. My favorite scent is hard to say because it depends on what I am smelling. My favorite flower aroma is Night Blooming Jasmine. When we buy scent chips for our burners we usually get Sugar Cookie. Of course, my favorite smell of all is puppy ears and breath.

The Good Ol' Summertime

Bentley Basset Hound: “Hey, Pierre! Guess what day it is?”
Pierre Westie: “Let’s see…it’s not my birthday. Is it Westie Appreciation Day? Most importantly, does it involve cake?”

Bentley: “I don’t smell cake and there is no such thing a Westie Appreciation Day. At least I’m pretty sure there isn’t. Anyway, today is the first day of summer! We need to remind our friends about some of our favorite safety warnings.”

Help Wanted on the Bayou

This is a different post from our usual banter. I’m asking for your help with a couple of things so we can make Barking from the Bayou a fun-tastic place to visit.

Can Hemp Infused Treatibles Help Your Pet?

Have you ever wondered if phytocannabinoids could benefit your pets? The World Health Organization (WHO) has determined that CBD has “been demonstrated as an effective treatment for epilepsy” in adults, children, and animals. They even found “preliminary evidence” that it could be used in treating Alzheimer’s disease, cancer, psychosis, and Parkinson’s disease. The report went on to state that naturally occurring CBD is safe and not associated with any negative public health effects. [PDF]

Treatibles® was the first company to infuse products with phytocannabinoids. The phytocannabinoid oil is extracted from medicinal grade hemp grown in the USA. The all-natural hemp contains more than 80 cannabinoids but less than .3% THC. What that means is your pet is not going to get “stoned” or “high” from ingesting Treatibles.

World Pet Memorial Day Memories

World Pet Memorial Day is celebrated on the second Tuesday in June each year. It is a day to remember the amazing animals that have been part of our lives. We’ve been blessed with wonderful cats and dogs over the years. It is way too easy to dwell on how much we miss them or our final good-byes. I know they would much rather I remember the smiles and laughs they gave me instead of the tears. Today, in honor of some of my best friends, I am sharing funny stories so they can make you laugh too.
Meet George. He was my very first dog when I was in junior high school. A dog all my own. The ad in the newspaper was for FREE Cocker Spaniel puppies. I know Cocker Spaniels. I have seen Cocker Spaniels. George was no Cocker Spaniel but he was a great dog.
When I lived on my own in a tiny trailer, George joined a motorcycle “gang” down the street. It was really a garage where they worked on cars and motorcycles. He loved to hang out there with them while I was gone during the day. He’d come home with grease on his head after “work.”
