Pierre Westie: “Oh my dog! Have you
seen the weather report for the bayou? It is supposed to ice and snow tonight. This
is a rare occurrence for us. We enjoy watching the humans react.”
Bentley: “It all began when
our local meteorologist used the “s” word. Absolute panic set in among the humans.
This is because NOBODY knows how to drive in the snow. We do not have machines
that deal with ice and snow so getting out on the road is never a good idea. That
means people rush to the grocery store while it was still in the upper 50’s
today to stockpile bread, milk and water.”
Pierre: “The next thing everyone
does is watch the tv to see if they are canceling school! The weatherman said
the arctic blast is coming tonight while we sleep. It is supposed to be ice
followed by snow. According to the scroll across the tv all schools, government
offices, libraries are closed, and the city transit will not be running. These
decisions were all made while it was sunny and 59°F. I’m sorry if I sound cynical
but I’m almost 7 years old and I’ve seen snow once. Mom says she’s lived here
most of her life (1,000 years or so) and can probably count on two hands when
there has been more than a dusting of snow.”
Bentley: “Well, it could
happen. I need to be prepared mentally to go outside and do my business on ice.
Brrrr! There won’t be anything fun about that but if it does snow, we can have
a blast running and playing in the white stuff. I’ve heard it’s important to
avoid any yellow snow.”
Pierre: “I just hope that I
don’t disappear under the snow. This is going to call for my colorful PrideBites
hoodie! Do we have enough food and water? Should I panic???”
Me: “Boys, it is only
supposed to snow 2”. Y’all are going to be fine. IF and I do mean IF it really
does snow, we will play in the yard and then come back inside to snuggle. It should
be very exciting while it lasts so expect a lot of photos. I’m sure it won’t
last but one day. The weatherman also predicts temperatures back in the upper
60’s on Saturday.” #24HourWinter

DeleteIt would be nice if you got to play in a little snow for a change. But, as ghostwriter always says, when it comes to snow, be careful what you wish for.
ReplyDeleteWe did get some snow and they boys enjoyed it but were ready to come back inside and snuggle.
DeleteWe saved some snow to send to you (apparently since only an inch fell yesterday in Denver). It is chilly so I apologize in advance for sending cold air toward you. Bundle up, Buttercup but have fun running zoomies in the white stuff. It's great to play in for a couple of minutes. Stay safe.
ReplyDeleteIt dropped 40 degrees very quickly last night. They are saying it will stay below freezing all day so we might get to enjoy a full day of snow!
DeleteWe have that exact prediction for here staring tonight a 11pm-7 pm on Wednesday. The amount of snow is all over the chart. Mom bought more Madi supplies including extra litter so I'm okey dokey fine let it snow. You 2 be quick about your business and remember NO EATING YELLOW SNOW

It was so funny when we went outside with them this morning. They weren't sure what had happened but quickly began to do zoomies and wrestling.
DeleteWhen I was still flying for a living I went to HOU for some recurrent training at a simulator facility. It was in the mid 50's and everyone was runnning around in parkas with boots and gloves. I wore a sweatshirt. I do hope it's not too bad for you as the pups don't always like going out when it's cold and icy.
ReplyDeleteThe first snow is kinda fun after that it is just cold
ReplyDeletehugs
Hazel & Mabel

Dogs Luv Us and We Luv Them
We have long winters with snow & ice here in rural Ont. Canada.
ReplyDeleteQ & I know that once outside we can do our zoomiies & business quickly & then come into the heat of the woodstove; not too mention treats. One has to keep the intake of calories to stay warm, right?!
Be safe, have fun, take lots of pics & demand many treats ;)
Nose nudges,
CEO Olivia
I can't believe you got snow.
