Pierre: “It snowed! It really, really snowed! Let’s build a snowman, run zoomies, and have a snowball fight! I am so stoked!"

Will It Snow?

Pierre Westie: “Oh my dog! Have you seen the weather report for the bayou? It is supposed to ice and snow tonight. This is a rare occurrence for us. We enjoy watching the humans react.”
Bentley: “It all began when our local meteorologist used the “s” word. Absolute panic set in among the humans. This is because NOBODY knows how to drive in the snow. We do not have machines that deal with ice and snow so getting out on the road is never a good idea. That means people rush to the grocery store while it was still in the upper 50’s today to stockpile bread, milk and water.”

Bayou Blizzard 2015

Let me begin by apologizing to my friends in the northeast who are being hammered by near record-breaking snowfall.  I know that our small amount of snow would not even be an annoyance to you.  I’ve seen the pictures and videos of your Winterfest 2015!  You have my respect and sympathy.
When you are raised in the Bayou State, snow is not on your weather radar.  When snow is predicted; we try not to get our hopes up, because we know it will end in disappointment.  Snow goes north of us; across Arkansas.  The weather map will show blue clouds indicating snow is heading straight for us, then it dissipates or turns.  We watch the neighboring areas being blanketed with the white stuff.  The local news always shows those lucky kids racing down hills on makeshift sleds and having snowball fights.  Oh, how we yearn for just a little bit of it.
