Smart Pet Love Safe & Sound 4-in-1 Harness

4 in I Pet harness package
Have you heard of SmartPetLove?  It is the new name of the Snuggle Pet Products line of fantastic products with heart.  They make products that use the natural calming effects of a beating heart to help soothe your dog or cat.  The best thing about the heartbeat technology is that it works!
You are probably asking yourself, “how does this work?”  Dogs are pack animals and love to be with another beating heart.  Just as the sound of someone’s heartbeat calms and helps a human relax, the same is true for dogs.  SmartPetLove has been making the world famous Snuggle Puppies since 1997.  Now, they’ve put the same heart in a wonderful harness.
Basset Hound wearing anxiety harness

We have been using the Safe & Sound 4–in-1 Harness for the past month.  It has been such a great aid in calming Bentley during storms.  Like many pet parents, I have been using a swaddle method to help relieve his storm anxieties.  The problem is he would get so hot that he was miserable.  The 4-in-1 Harness is comfortable and it doesn’t cause him to overheat.  He actually curled up on his bed in our office and went to sleep during a recent thunderstorm.  If your pet has thunder issues, you understand that sleep is not something either of you get during storms.  That rates number one of the four uses for the harness to me.
The second use for this versatile harness is as a car restraint.  It comes with a strap that connects to the ring on the harness and clicks perfectly into the car seatbelt receptacles.  The adjustable strap keeps Bentley from trying to climb over the seat.  He also doesn’t slip and slide during a stop.  While this product wasn’t designed to protect your pet in the event of a crash, it might help prevent one from happening.  Allowing your dog to ride without any restraint is dangerous to everyone.

Basset Hound wearing a harness and walking on leash
The third way I have fallen in love with this harness is taking Bentley for our neighborhood walks.  Most harnesses rub his underarms raw.  Even the extra soft ones leave his soft armpits chaffed.  The 4-in-1 Harness goes around Bentley’s chest and that eliminates the painful rubbing he has experienced with others.  I love the sturdy feel of it when we are walking.
The fourth feature that Bentley loves is being able to use the front pouch to hold his treats on our walks.  He doesn’t need the heartbeat to calm him during his walks.  His problem is not aggression, but the assumption that every stranger is just a friend that hasn’t scratched his belly.  I can offer him a treat and keep him moving.
As you can tell, I am a huge fan of the SmartPetLove's Safe & Sound 4-in-1 Harness.  It also doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out how to put it on your dog.  We have several harnesses that take a long time to twist and turn in order to get it on Bentley correctly.  This one is fits over his head and has two connectors on each side.

It is refreshingly easy to use as a regular walking harness or as an anxiety reliever with the heartbeat.  To use the heart, take the two AAA batteries (included) and install them after removing the battery cover screw and sliding the cover off activate the heart.  You replace the cover and screw it securely down.  The heart has an on/off switch located on the back.  The heart-shaped pocket on the front of the harness can be opened by pulling the tabs at the top of the harness pocket.  You simply turn the heart switch on and slide it down into the pocket.  The strong Velcro closure keeps the heart securely inside.
If you dog has any anxiety issues, you should definitely look into the complete line of SmartPetLove products.  We will be discussing the original Snuggle Puppies next month and you are going to “HEART” it very much too.
SmartPetLove’s president and CEO is Bob Thorne.  Mr. Thorne is a pet-lover that is helping make life better for stressed out dogs and cats everywhere.  Be sure to follow Snuggle Puppies on Twitter and Facebook.  Here is a quick video to show you the 4-in-1 Harness’ features in detail.

  3. Bentley looks super in his harness..we had a harness issue the other day when we took the boys for a swim at the reservoir...Forrests clip just snapped open and would not stay put..we still could have him safely on the big line fro swimming by attaching it to his collar ..but we were not happy..he is a big dog and needs to be harnessed for his safeth..this one seems fab with the heart beat ..Forrest and Doc do not like other dogs and it stresses them out..thunder not so much..and the ease of putting it on seems great..we have had issues always with getting harnesses on ...so much mucking around! a great review and we will have to go check their products out and see if thy supply here :) hugs Fozziemum xxx

  8. Looks like a good product for you, Bentley. I only have my seat belt harness or nose work harness, but they each have a specific time to be used. Glad it helps you with fears and doesn't hurt your armpits.

  11. How very interesting! I had never heard of or seen anything of the like before ~ but it makes a lot of sense that a "beating heart" would calm an anxious pup! Just shared your review with a friend whose dog has issues with t-storms.

  12. We're happy to hear you are able to sleep through storms. Neither of us has problems with that but we heard our Angel Sister Nina used to until she became deaf.

  13. Great review! I like the idea of an anxiety relief device that is an item my dog uses daily like a harness. It won't make her feel like she's being swallowed up in something. My Husky has anxiety during thunder and fireworks.

  14. I have never heard of this company or their products, but they sure sound intriguing. Anything that might help Luke with his fearfulness is worth a try. I've been trying to figure out what to put on him for walks to help him relax a bit more.
