Bentley Basset Hound: “Being a senior dog, this confession might surprise you. I love toys, especially toys that squeak! Imagine our surprise when we received a box of GoDog™ toys. Our tails were wagging and we shamelessly begged for them.”

CBDs the Treatibles Way to Pet Health

I have written several posts on the use of CBDs in pets. It has been shown to be harmless even when taken in high dosage for extended periods of time. CBDs are also LEGAL in all 50 states for humans and pets. I am a firm believer in the benefits of cannabinoids and that is why I recently became an affiliate for Treatibles®.

How to Keep Your Senior Dog Heart Healthy

One of the greatest joys in a pet parent’s life is the love of a senior dog. We would go to any length to ensure our furry family members live a long and healthy life. Many times, that means as our dogs and cats age, we need to add certain supplements to their diets. Thankfully, Dr. Harvey’s has many helpful ways to make sure we are doing our best to keep our pets going strong!
Coenzyme Q10 is essential for the cells in dogs and cats’ bodies. It is used for cell growth and to help protect cells from damage. Their bodies naturally produce this antioxidant but may need to be supplemented as they age. It is recommended for them after the age of six. That means both Bentley and Pierre are getting the daily dosage Dr. Harvey recommends.

Paws Up for Pawmetto Barkery

                                     Pawmetto Barkery logo
I have met some of the nicest people on Facebook. Many are small business owners that have shared one of the quotes from my book series. Whenever I am tagged, I always thank them for sharing. It means a lot to me and helps promote my books.

Ooh La La It's Le Bōl

Bentley: “I'll admit it, we are rolling-in-stinky-stuff, squirrel-chasing, licking-where-we-can kind of guys. However, that doesn’t mean we don’t enjoy the finer things in life.”

In the Heat of the Moment

The heat is on and we need to do everything in our power to protect our pets. I know most people are aware of the dangers of leaving pets in the car and still we hear about dogs dying from heatstroke. Leaving a window cracked is not good enough. Dogs and cats are safer waiting at home while you go shopping or running errands. This infographic shows just how hot a car can get during these dog days of summer.

Fetch bioDOGradable Bags for Your Dog

One thing that we can all agree on when it comes to dogs is that poo happens! It is incredibly important that you don’t leave it on the ground. The question is how do we dispose of it without feeding the ever-growing piles of garbage at our landfills?
Barking from the Bayou, LLC received bioDOGradable wWaste Pick-Up Bags in exchange for an honest review. We only share products that we feel will benefit our audience. bioDOGradable is not responsible for the contents of this article.

We Love Book Lover's Day

We always enjoy Book Lover’s Day because that describes us perfectly. Before Mama began blogging, she would read an average of one book every two days. She worked in a high school library so books were her life. Her first adventure into blogging was all about writing.
My original blog header was a card catalog
Some of her all-time favorite authors are Stephen King, Dean Koontz, and Nora Roberts. That’s a weird combination of scary and romance. She has hundreds of books and we were happy when she started reading on her Kindle or we’d have to open our own library!

When the Thunder Rolls Fetch a ThunderShirt

If you have a dog that hates thunderstorms, chances are you are familiar with the ThunderShirt®. I have used the original heather grey one on Bentley for several years. It was recommended by a veterinarian to help calm his anxiety during storms. I have always loved the results but not how the shirt collected his hair!

We recently reviewed the ThunderSnap® and when reading about the leash, I noticed they had a new ThunderShirt Sport®. It is just like the original ThunderShirt but is made from polyester. I wondered if this would be better for a Basset Hound that sheds 24/7. They offered to send me one to try. Of course, I jumped at the chance.

Trapped

*My new laptop and I are becoming good friends. Thank you for your support. Barking from the Bayou Tip: Back up your work! Fortunately, I had mine backed up or this would have been tragic.
