Trapped

*My new laptop and I are becoming good friends. Thank you for your support. Barking from the Bayou Tip: Back up your work! Fortunately, I had mine backed up or this would have been tragic.
The Bayou Boys have their daddy trapped while they wait for chicken samples

Skipper boiled some chicken for the boys’ dinner and for our salad. Bentley and Pierre had him trapped until he gave up some samples! This is how they position themselves anytime he cooks.

  1. My dog, Misha, does the same thing when she knows it is dinner or snack time. You can never be too sure when a human might try to get out of snacks!

    1. They can hear a banana being peeled from the other side of the house but when it is time for serious cooking, they take these positions.

  3. You guys give him lots of room! I like to be closer so that mom has to keep stepping over me.

    1. We love to get under Mom's feet but we act like little angels when Dad cooks because it gets us more samples. LOL!

  4. Quite a few years ago, before the blogging empire began, Mom lost a lot of work stuff when her computer misbehaved. She subscribed to Carbonite and has ever since. No need to think about backing up, it just happens all the time and it gives us piece of mind. If something happens, the only things that might not be saved are the very last things we did, but usually they are already captured too. Hope you didn't lose too much.

    1. I'll have to check into Carbonite. Luckily, a friend of my son's is a tech wiz and had backed up my stuff when we began trying to fix the problem.

    1. If you believe them, they are war dogs and have seen many battles. Of course, they have absolutely no military training but they like to tell tall tales!

  8. Oh yes, I learned my lesson years ago about backing the computer up! On my mac, I have Time Machine which automatically backs up every hour.

My dogs do the same thing, their favorite is fresh carrots. As soon as they hear me getting the cutting board out, they come running :)

    1. Thanks for visiting! The boys LOVE mini carrots. We give them as treats too.

  9. Joey dog used to do that too! I'd rather ignore the cooking process, and then food watch from the side of table when the food is being served and eaten.

    1. He is the BEST at dropping samples for us. He will even blow off the pieces of chicken so we don't burn our mouths.

  23. BOL!!! OMD, that is FABulous!!!! Since our kitchen is super small, I need only to lay at the entrance (it's a galley style kitchen), and Ma can't escape! (she does often slip on the drool puddle though....)

  26. That must be some yummy chicken to get Bentley to wait so patiently! My cats would never be that patient. I often have to close them into the bedroom when food is being cooked. They will steal it right out of the pan on the stove! Silly kitties.
