DGP For Our Pet's Mobility & Flexibilty
Do you give much thought to your dog’s mobility and flexibility? If they are getting older, chances are it is something on your mind. One of the many things we share with our dogs and cats is the realization that as we age, we can have issues with our movements. It is important that we get daily exercise to maintain an ease of movement.
Bentley is 8-years-old and Pierre just celebrated his 5th birthday. They are still very active and I want to make sure they stay that way. I feed them a great diet, keep my veterinarian appointments and add all-natural supplements to help provide an extra layer of protection.

Lizard Hunting 101
“Welcome to Lizard Hunting 101. Being on the Bayou, you might be wondering why I am hunting lizard instead of alligators. It’s simple reasoning; to a lizard I look like a huge white monster, but to an alligator, I look like a tasty mini marshmallow.”

Pierre Westie: “We often report about happy reunions between humans and their long-lost dogs. I am happy to share a story that proves microchipping your cat is just as important. A cat name Chloe escaped from her car at the veterinarian’s office one morning six years ago. She was scheduled for surgery that morning but decided to opt out. Her owner was told that Chloe died in a road accident. You can imagine her surprise when she was contacted by a local shelter in South Wales to come and claim the 9-year-old cat. It was a wonderful reunion that was only possible because of her microchip.”

5 Easy Ways to Celebrate Earth Day with Your Dog
Since 1970, we have celebrated Earth Day by bringing attention to the environmental issues we all face. Great strides have taken place but there is so much more that we can all do to make a difference.
Here are 5 Easy Ways to celebrate Earth Day with your dog:
5. Recycle
It is so easy to rinse out your dog or cat food cans for recycling. Always use the recycle bin to throw away empty pet food bags, treat boxes, toy tags, dog shampoo bottles and delivery boxes. Check for the recycle label on products that you purchase.

There is a New Chew in Town #SentinelSpectrum
This post is sponsored by Virbac® Sentinel® Spectrum® and the BlogPaws® Pet Influencer Network™. I am being compensated to help create awareness about protection against common parasites found in dogs but we only share information we feel is relevant to our readers. More information about Sentinel Spectrum. Virbac is not responsible for the content of this article.
Let’s face it; there is nothing nice about parasites. They are gross, but the chances are if you have dogs, you’ve had to deal with at least one of these six most common freeloaders. I’m talking about heartworm, fleas, hookworm, roundworm, tapeworm and whipworm. What if I told you there was a Beef and Bacon Flavored Chew; Virbac® SENTINEL® SPECTRUM® that can protect your best friend against these dirty half-dozen? That’s right, there’s a new chewy in town and it is protecting our dogs from the inside out. Your vet can prescribe Sentinel Spectrum after testing to make sure your dog is heartworm-free.

BFTB NETWoof News April 18, 2016 #DogNews
Bentley: “I’m Bentley Basset and welcome to BFTB NETWoof News for the week of April 18, 2016. We hope that you’re doing great and look forward to fetching you some fun news. I am joined at the anchor desk by yesterday’s birthday boy, Pierre, and our Weather Lab Paisley. What’s our top story?”
Paisley: “Pick me! Pick me! BREAKING NEWS!!”
Bentley: “It appears that Paisley has our top story.”
Paisley: “Guess what! My baby sister is here and I have never been so proud. It turns out that a baby is a sweet but tiny human! Mine is just the cutest little girl in the world. I will always love her and protect her and teach her to walk and play ball. Wow! This is going to be so much fun! Right now, it is my job to watch her with my mom and dad. If she squeaks, I am right there checking on her. We are totally going to have tea parties and play dress-up one day. Sorry, to ramble but I find her so fascinating. Anyway, that is my top story!”

A Special Pierre Birthday Edition
Pierre: "Why are we posting on Sunday? I thought that we took the weekends off unless it was a special occasion."
Bentley: “It is a special occasion. Guess what we are celebrating today?”
Pierre: “Ummm...is it my birthday? Will there be cake?”
Bentley: “I know that is always your first guess, but in this case, you’re right!”

We Love Our Fun and Whimzees
Bentley: “I don’t mind telling y’all that this has been one crazy week. Mom was not able to brush our teeth, which would have been a bummer if it weren’t for Whimzees™. The fun shapes are good for a giggle and great for a gnaw.”
Pierre: “I love the hedgehog and alligator shapes. Of course, the toothbrush and crossbones are awesome too. The unique knobby shapes, grooves, and hollows are excellent at keeping our teeth plaque and tartar free.”
Bentley: “Those shapes also help to ensure proper blood flow through the gums and prevent bad breath. For two cool dudes, fresh breath is a must-have. They are also high in fiber and low in calories so we will maintain our manly dog physiques.”

BFTB NETWoof News April 11, 2016 #DogNews
Bentley: “Hello, I’m Bentley and this is BFTB NETWoof News for the week of April 11, 2016. Joining me at the anchor desk is Pierre Westie and Paisley, the best Weather Lab on the Bayou. We fetch the good dog and animal stories to put a smile in your day. Let’s turn to Pierre for our top story.”
Pierre: “Firefighters rescued a dog that had fallen 50 feet into an abandoned clay mine. A hiker called 9-1-1 to report the pup around the Chatfield Reservoir in Colorado. The fire department stated that dog rescues from the mines are not uncommon. Just an idea, maybe they should cap those mines so nobody can fall into them. What do you think, Bentley?”

Pick Up the Dog Poop ~ No More Excuses
Let’s face the facts; there will always be people that refuse to pick up after their dogs. It is annoying, irresponsible and illegal in many areas. Why do some people refuse to scoop their dog’s poop? I am sure there is a myriad of excuses but not a single legitimate reason.
The following are NOT acceptable excuses:
It’s just dog poop, what’s the big deal?
Did you know that the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention confirms pet waste can spread parasitic worms, parvovirus, and salmonella? Pet waste is classified as a dangerous pollutant.

Is Your Dog Allergic to Spring?
Spring is a wonderful time of the year, especially when you are a dog. The grass is green, squirrels are out, there are fresh flower beds to dig, and balls to catch. If your dog suffers from seasonal allergies, spring might not be their favorite time of the year.

Tiger photo courtesy of The Today Show |
Pierre: “We chose our top story this week for the ‘awww’ factor. The Wildlife Conservation Society’s Bronx Zoo introduced their two new tiger cubs last week to the Today’s Show Harry Smith. The 12-week-old Mayalan tiger cubs are doing great. They are endangered with only 250 left due to poaching and loss of prey in the wild. The Wildlife Conservation Society works to help stop poaching so that hopefully magnificent tigers and many other animals will survive in their natural habitat. The cubs are so cute. I’m glad they are safe from poachers.”
