   Super Bowl LI is this Sunday, February 5th and it should be a great game between the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons. We are huge football fans here on the Bayou so you can bet we will be tuned in and cheering. Super Bowls parties will be held with lots of wonderful food and drinks. It is a tradition that goes back since the first Super Bowl in 1967.

How to Prevent Ear Infections in your Dog

   Bentley spent his first 8 years constantly battling ear infections. We spent a fortune on vet visits where he would get shots, drops, and pills. The infection would go away for maybe a month or two.

   It was obvious when his ears were infected. He would begin with shaking his head and scratching at his ears. When I lifted his long beautiful ears, they would be red and stinky. Our wake-up call came when our veterinarian recommended surgery. We decided to get a second opinion and opted not to have the surgery. After he finished his medications and the vet gave him the all clear, I began a new regiment. It has now been ONE YEAR since he had any ear trouble. Believe me, that is a miracle and a blessing.

How to Tell If Your Dog is Hungry

You can set a clock according to Bentley's stomach. Each day at 3:15 or 4:15 during daylight savings time, my lovable Basset Hound is hungry. I can always tell from his subtle hints like this...

"Hey, Mom. It seems to be getting close to suppertime."

It is Time to Walk Your Dog

   January is National Walk Your Dog month and the perfect way to kick off a new year. Exercise is important to both humans and dogs so why not take a walk together? Your pooch will appreciate it and you will feel better too.
