The other day when our delivery of Dr. Harvey’s arrived, the Bayou Boys seemed unusually giddy. I know they love their Paradigm and Pierre can barely contain himself while I mix in their protein and oil each meal. No, this was something different. That’s when I saw the bags of Dr. Harvey’s Power Pops inside the box!
These treats are made of one ingredient and that’s freeze-dried regional green tripe. Dogs naturally crave the smell and taste of Dr. Harvey's Power Pops. I knew the boys were anxious to get their paws on a couple of these tasty morsels but I really underestimated them once again! It started innocently enough…
Bentley Basset Hound: “Hey Mom! You have been cleaning house all day. Why don’t you just put your feet up and relax? You deserve a break. Did I mention how much I love you?”
Me: “You are such a sweetheart and I agree that resting for a few minutes sounds great. You two stay out of trouble.”
Bentley: “Oh, you know us. We’ll be fine. Pssst, Pierre! Grab my hammer and meet me out front. Act natural so Mom doesn’t get suspicious.”
Pierre Westie: “I am so excited! We are going to be rich in no time. Do you have the Dr. Harvey’s Power Pops? I need to fuel up before undertaking any manual labor.”
Bentley: “Well, just eat a couple. If you eat all the merchandise, we won’t reach our goal of being gazillionaires this week. It is going to be tough resisting the bite-sized healthy treat. I mean, look at them. They are a perfect size. Hold the board still or I’m going to whack my dewclaw with the hammer.”
Pierre: “Do you think the neighbor dogs will come once we are finished?”
Bentley: “If we build it and stock it with delicious Power Pops, they will come. This is top-quality tripe and made here in the USA. There are no chemicals, dyes, preservatives, fillers or synthetics in them either. We are like the neighborhood health gurus. All we need to do is charge them $100 per piece. I figure we will make our first gazillion today.”
Pierre: “Yikes! That seems kinda steep since they can order a 3 oz. bag from Dr. Harvey’s for only $12.95. There are a lot of pieces in each bag.”
Bentley: “That’s exactly how we are going to get rich. I’ve asked around and most of the dogs don’t have computers so they can’t order them. Let’s just hope their parents don’t catch on and order their own. (Yelling) Step right up and get your Power Pops!”
Pierre: “Uh-oh! Don’t look now, but here comes trouble.”
Me: “What are y’all doing with all of the Power Pops? You weren’t trying to sell them, were you? I was just coming out to tell you about our new contest. THREE of our readers will WIN a bag of Dr. Harvey’s Power Pops!
Bentley: “What? Noooooo…We were definitely not going to sell them for big bucks. Pierre and I were just discussing how nice it would be to hold a contest. Seriously, who needs a gazillion dollars when I could win a bag of Dr. Harvey’s Power Pops.
Pierre: “Actually, we aren’t allowed to enter but three of our friends will win and that’s awesome. Good luck everyone!”

ReplyDeleteYou are very lucky!
Deletei have 2 min. schnauzers and the youngest who is 7 now, is a real clown. she tries everything. she acts like she had gone outside to potty and then when i turn around, boom, right in the house, of course her older sister does the same thing. they are very good at hiding when i take out the grooming box or see that they have made a mess in the house. sometimes it will take me over 30 min. to find them. they will see me, and run and hide someplace else in the house. i dont have a big house either.
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny! The boys can't hide but I did accidentally shut Bentley in my closet one afternoon and searched for him about 30 minutes.
