Lizard Hunting 101

Lizard Hunting 101 with Pierre featuring Westie
“Welcome to Lizard Hunting 101. Being on the Bayou, you might be wondering why I am hunting lizard instead of alligators. It’s simple reasoning; to a lizard I look like a huge white monster, but to an alligator, I look like a tasty mini marshmallow.”
Westie is garden of yellow flowers and metal spoke
"Successful lizard hunters find a lush garden or flower bed to set up camp. I love to explore when flowers are at their peak bloom." (Ignore Mom rolling her eyes)

"Always stay alert for any movement. Remember the three lizard hunting L’s…Look, Listen, Leap."

"Lizards are tricky. They can become one with a plant so keep your eye on them. Don’t let them bribe you with their “money pouch.” It is not even a real quarter in there."

“Lizard hunting is always more fun with a friend. You can divide and conquer or team up for action. *Fun Fact: If you both begin to bark and hop around, your mom will think it’s a snake and lose her mind.”
“Never let the lizard smell fear. If you miss your target, don’t worry. Another lizard will be darting past any minute. Should any flowers get trampled or killed during a hunt, look innocent and admit to nothing. Now, let's go out there and hunt some lizards!”

  1. Oh boy. If we had lizards in the yard, we wouldn't be allowed outside and Mom wouldn't go out either. She doesn't like any reptile creatures and we are forbidden to come in contact with them too. You guys have fun doing a "forbidden" sport.

  10. The reason why you hunt lizards and not alligators sounds rather sensible. Great lesson, you're a good teacher : you could be an honorary cat. Purrs
