We Love Book Lover's Day

We always enjoy Book Lover’s Day because that describes us perfectly. Before Mama began blogging, she would read an average of one book every two days. She worked in a high school library so books were her life. Her first adventure into blogging was all about writing.
My original blog header was a card catalog
Some of her all-time favorite authors are Stephen King, Dean Koontz, and Nora Roberts. That’s a weird combination of scary and romance. She has hundreds of books and we were happy when she started reading on her Kindle or we’d have to open our own library!

As most of you know, she has written two books. They are The Returns and TheReturns 2~Showstoppers. Both books are funny adventures about humans who die too early and are sent to the “Returns” department of heaven where they are placed in other bodies to fulfill their life’s destiny. In their cases, they all return in the bodies of dogs or cats! They have a “rookie” Guardian Angel named Faith Fullilove who takes care of them but isn’t the best cook in the world. Here is a short exert from Chapter 1:
Bentley slowly recalled being shot and seeing angels. “Wait a minute. They said that I would be matched to a body similar to the one I left. I fail to see where the similarities match. And quit scratching my dang ears. How can I be a stinkin’ dog?!”
“We must never put a question mark where God puts a period, Bentley. Only a few souls are chosen to become dogs. It is the noblest of assignments. That is why dog is God spelled backwards,” she explained.
“Seriously, that is your explanation? Look at the way you turned out. You were gorgeous in Heaven and you look the same way here. Why aren’t you some kind of poodle? This is so not fair. I am nothing like I was before. I have to believe that another mistake has been made.” He whined as his back leg began scratching under his belly involuntarily.
"Well, that is not true. You kept your beautiful brown eyes, your black hair, firm square jaw and your badge number. You are quite an outstanding specimen of a Basset Hound. Show quality, I dare say,” Faith told him.
If you think you’d enjoy The Returns series, they are available on Amazon in digital or paperback! You can read them FREE if you are member of Kindle Unlimited.

If you’re too busy to read, you are too busy!

  3. My Gramma is into books and she still works at a library, I mean volunteers. My mom, on the other paw is not into books at all. If she reads one a year, that is a lot. She has never liked reading, but she loves to write.

  6. Oh no! As authors, we can't believe we missed this day! I'm telling our mom to make sure to write it on the calendar for next year. She loves to read all kinds of books, from biographies to thrillers, non-fiction to period romances. She really loves fantasy though.

  14. I used to read about that much before I started blogging too! Stephen King scared me, I couldn't read his books, but I love Dean Koontz and Nora Roberts too. Some of her trilogies were my favorites, and I always loved that Dean had the best dogs in his books. "Fear Nothing" and its sequel were my all time favorites!

    1. There are some Stephen King books that are super scary but I love them! I always say that Dean Koontz is scary but never kills your favorite characters. LOL! I'm a huge NOra Roberts fan and her J. D. Robb books.

    2. I started reading Cujo, and it gave me nightmares two chapters in so I gave up, and never tried one of his books again! LOL...I'm a wimp, I don't watch horror movies either. Dean Koontz was scary too, but for some reason I could take his...must have been why you said! :)
