It's Squirrel:Thirty on the Bayou

I mentioned the other day that Pierre was obsessed with squirrels.  When I say “obsessed,” I mean that he will sit at the back door from 4:30 to 7:30 every day.  This is Squirrel: thirty o’clock.  Approximately every fifteen to twenty minutes, a squirrel will dare to put his feet in our yard.  Pierre has one mission.  Eliminate the perpetrator.  He also has one problem.  He cannot sneak because it is physically impossible for him not to bark.  He starts with a whine at the door.  That quickly escalates into a nervous bark and rapid pacing from the window to the door.  If we don’t let him outside, the sound rises and becomes a desperate plea for release.  He will shake with excited anticipation.  When the door opens, he shoots out like a bullet!  The squirrels are still winning the race, but he has gotten close.  Our squirrels stay within a hop, skip and jump to the trees for a quick getaway.  The word is out in the woods that Pistol Pierre is always on duty.

“At the bark, the time will be Squirrel:thirty.”

Who is ‪#‎BlogPaws‬ Conference Cruising with Bentley? It looks like Jax has outgrown Bentley's lap. See if you can spot him! Emma from MyGBGVLife is reminding her sister Bailie to keep her paws inside the Conference Crow's Nest. Golden Woofs Sugar assures Emma that she is watching Bailie and Pierre. Everyone is super excited to welcome @Carleen Pruess Coulter's Corgi Eve to the car! Eve's mom will be discussing legal issues at the conference.
What is going on in the Hound Dog Hot Tub? It appears a game of Iron Horses could be starting! Oz the Terrier and Fidose of Reality Dexter are raising K9 Carry All Kona on their shoulders. I hope Irresistible Pets Chuy is going to talk them out of this game. Tig from DOGthusiast: for dog enthusiasts is always ready for a good romp, but Dolly the Doxie and Dog Mom Days - Wynston AKC Chihuahua are thinking it's not a good idea.Denise Gruzensky Shasta offers to be the referee. My Dog Likes Charlie and Harley have both Lulu from Life With Beagle and Oh My Shih TzuRiley on their shoulders This could get interesting!
OMD! Groovy Goldendoodles Harley is teaching his baby brother Jax how to work the grill like a big dog! Tig's brother Mort is in line to fetch a couple of burgers. It's Dog or Nothing Atka and Mauja are waiting patiently in line with their friend, Rocco from To Dog With Love. Nakita of Live.Wag.Bark is loving the Chillin' N Grillin' deck! Beagles and Bargains Luna is digging the scene with the cool cats Stunning Keisha Plush CK and Coco the Couture Cat

  9. Pierre, you are a lunatic, like our Jasper, another squirrel cop. We had one attach itself to our screen off the porch, and Jasper was beside himself until I shooed it away. There's just no talking to that dog when a squirrel's about. MK, the BlogPaws caravan is just about the coolest pic around and your copy is sheer perfection! Loving it! Happy Sunday, guys!

  16. Wow, I can totally relate! Those squirrels drive me bonkers too...and they're everywhere here! Just because I sorta live in the woods, you'd think they own the place. *shesh* Well, I gotta bark and sometime squeal a little too. My solution is pure, high octane SPEED. I have caught a few over the years.
