We met so many awesome people and pets at BlogPaws this year. I fell in love with a certain French gentleman. His name is Louie and he’s an adorable French Bulldog. He has one of those faces that you just want to kiss. You can read his adventures on their blog, The French Dog. As I was trying to control my urge to cuddle him, he lifted his head and I saw that he was wearing a bowtie collar. There should have been a “Caution! Cuteness Overload” neon sign on him. I asked his mom, Karen, where she had found such a great collar. It was very exciting to discover that she actually made Louie’s collar. She has her own Etsy store, Darla Jane’s.
Karen began her store after raising puppies for 15 years. The new puppy owners would get excited about buying collars and toys for their new “baby.” She quickly realized there was a huge market for unique dog accessories. She makes custom-fitted coats for dogs that are harder to fit than some others. Dogs like Louie and Bentley usually can’t buy “off-the-rack” clothes and accessories. At Darla Jane’s, she can take your pets measurements and make sure that you get the correct size. She fits average-sized dogs too!
I selected a collar and leash set and placed my order. Ordering on Etsy is very easy. The message that the collar and leash were in the mail was delivered a couple of days later. I think it is perfect for my boy.
It is hand-made using plaid fabric and stitching it onto 1” navy blue webbing. It closes with a contoured side-release snap. There is a metal D-ring for a leash. I also ordered two of Darla Jane’s Tag Loops. We have accumulated a number of great collars and changing tags are a pain. The tag loops fit around the 1” wide collar (or smaller) and closes with the same side-release snap as the collar. It is my new favorite dog must-have.
Bentley looks so stylish in his new bowtie collar. The collar is $16.00 and is available in small to x-large sizes. It is also adjustable. The leash is $17.00 and has a bow at the hand grip. We are going to go to the pet store and show it off this weekend! I don’t have to worry about him getting his snazzy new collar dirty, it is machine-washable!
Karen has offered to give one of my readers their choice of Collar and a Tag Loop! You can register below and come back daily for free bonus entries!
*We received a collar and leash set in exchange for an honest review. Barking from the Bayou/mkclinton.com only share products that we enjoy and believe our readers will too. All opinions are my own.
