Welcome to the Weekend

We had so much fun participating in McGuffy’s Reader & 15 and Meowing Friendly Fill-Ins blog hop that we had to join them again! We are very excited to share our answers and look forward to reading what others share.
1.  A law I would like to see passed is mandatory jail time for animal abuse.
2.  My favorite card game is Uno.
3.  With summer unofficially here, I am looking forward to backyard barbecues!
4.  A favorite summer memory is thirty-five years ago when I married my amazing husband.

Summer and the Reading is Easy
What happens if you arrive at the Pearly Gates before your time?
F.B.I Agent Bentley Clanton finds out the hard way as he is directed to a little-known area devoted to correcting glitches in the longevity system. The Returns Department specializes in finding appropriate bodies for “early arrivals” before sending them back to earth. It seemed an acceptable solution until Bentley realizes his new body includes long velvety ears, four stubby legs with giant paws, and a tail. Helping him adjust to life as a Basset Hound is his rookie Guardian Angel, along with three other canine Returns.
Laugh along as a delightful Golden Retriever, a feisty Chihuahua, and Flamboyant Westie join Bentley to form an unlikely brotherhood of crime-fighting heroes. The Returns takes you on a fun-loving, junk food eating adventure through the exciting streets of New Orleans during Mardi Gras.

  11. The link for the Pet Parade isn't working. When I click on the link in the email it keeps telling me there is a fatal error. When I try to access it through Rascal and Rocco's page, it isn't there either...

  17. Wow, you don't look old enough to have been married 35 years. :)

I love your picture-in-a-picture of the butterfly on the lantana.

Your flowers are beautiful. We have lantana here, too. I can't wait for it to all be in bloom. We have the vine type as well as the bush type and the only one with any flowers on it right now is the vine.

I agree with you on jail time for animal abuse. I think there should be mandatory jail time for any abuse and there should be truth in sentencing. If they say 10 years, it should be 10 years, not "okay, you've been a good boy/girl, you can go home now" after 6 months. OY!

    Have a blessed weekend. :)

    2. I agree, not too long ago a collie owner/breeder was convicted. He had left 18 (I think) of his collies out in a field without food or water. Many starved to death, some were saved. He is already released from jail.

    3. He used an excuse about an injured foot, but there were many people willing to help, he just never asked.

  23. I think that animal abusers should go to jail. I have personal experience with such a person killing my very first dog. He didn't go to jail - he was convicted of a felony and he had to pay us a fee to "buy a replacement dog" (holy moly - what was that judge thinking?). It was a long time ago but I can still get very worked up about the fact that the guy didn't spend a single day behind bars for shooting our dog while we were out for a walk. Our dog was only 2 yrs old - he and we lost many years together.

    1. That is so sad. I can't imagine that a judge actually thought a "replacement fee" would be sufficient. ♥
