Quotes with Flowers

We are joining the adorable Rosy from LLB in Our Backyard for Flower Friday. I “picked” some quotes to add to today’s flowers. Enjoy.

Weekend Fun & Flowers

Hey! Did y’all miss us yesterday? We had some heavy rains during the day on the Fourth of July which caused the cancellation of the holiday parades and concerts. The sun came out in the late afternoon, so we went to our son’s house for ribs. When we arrived home that evening, no power! I didn’t have a post scheduled and the power did not come back on until after 3:00a.m. I will share that post next week. We are also happy to report that all of our neighbors (except for 2) obeyed the no fireworks rule. It was a MUCH quieter holiday.
Today, we are joining 15 and Meowing along with Four-Legged Furballs for Friendly Fill-Ins. Be sure to hop over and visit everyone participating.
• When it is hot, I like to stay inside where it is not hot! Bentley on the other paw loves the heat!
I am looking forward to barbecuing this month.

The Pet Parade Marches to Flower Friday

Happy weekend! It’s time for the Pet Parade and we hope that you will join in the fun. Many bloggers are feeling blog hop withdrawals with the new changes at BlogPaws and their Wordless Wednesday. We understand and have reached out on social media to encourage our pet blogging friends to hop in the Pet Parade! You can join any day of the week with a new hop starting each Friday. We welcome ALL pets whether your best friend has paws, claws, fins, scales, fur, feathers or…well, you get the idea. EVERYONE is welcome. Please help us get the word out so we can all stay in touch and continue to hop by to say “Hey!” to our blogging community.

Mercer Arboretum & Botanical Gardens #TexasTravel

One of the great things about moving to a new state is discovering all the exciting places to explore. This week we went to Mercer Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. It is beautiful and we highly recommend a visit if you are in the Houston area.
Statue of Thelma Mercer
The inscription reads; "A visionary naturalist and innovative horticulturalist Thelma Mercer and her husband, Charles, created a charming and unique garden sanctuary on the original 14.5-acre property that would become Mercer Arboretum and Botanical Gardens on January 8, 1974. Her legacy endures in this place of beauty, serenity, and learning that is enjoyed by all who enter these gates."

1.  A law I would like to see passed is mandatory jail time for animal abuse.
2.  My favorite card game is Uno.
3.  With summer unofficially here, I am looking forward to backyard barbecues!
4.  A favorite summer memory is thirty-five years ago when I married my amazing husband.

Flowers for Dory

Red tulips at Skagit Valley Tulip and Daffodil Festival in Washington at the Roozen Gaarde®
I love blogging and over the past three years, I have become friends with many other dog and cat bloggers. It is a wonderful way to meet people that love their pets as much as we love Bentley and Pierre. The part of blogging that I hate is saying goodbye to the wonderful dogs and cats that cross the Rainbow Bridge. It doesn’t matter how old they are, it is always too soon.
