Weekend Fun & Flowers

Hey! Did y’all miss us yesterday? We had some heavy rains during the day on the Fourth of July which caused the cancellation of the holiday parades and concerts. The sun came out in the late afternoon, so we went to our son’s house for ribs. When we arrived home that evening, no power! I didn’t have a post scheduled and the power did not come back on until after 3:00a.m. I will share that post next week. We are also happy to report that all of our neighbors (except for 2) obeyed the no fireworks rule. It was a MUCH quieter holiday.
Today, we are joining 15 and Meowing along with Four-Legged Furballs for Friendly Fill-Ins. Be sure to hop over and visit everyone participating.
• When it is hot, I like to stay inside where it is not hot! Bentley on the other paw loves the heat!
I am looking forward to barbecuing this month.

  2. We did wonder what happened to you yesterday. Glad you are alright and had a quiet 4th. Ours was super noisy, so Bailie was a complete mess, and we anticipate it again through the weekend. Not fun.

  3. We loved the picture of the great sunflower forest. Hope you pups didn't get lost in there! We had perfect weather on the 4th. Yesterday, it was another story: big thunderstorms and torrential rain!

  4. I'm glad you had a quieter 4th of July, but so sorry about all that rain! Isn't it crazy, so much rain all around the country. The worst part for us is all the wretched humidity we are having on the East coast - in NY we didn't have any rain but the heat is awful - my plants are all wilting! It's supposed to cool down Saturday so we wait with baited breath for that to happen....!

  20. Bessie and Bentley would sure would get a long grr-eat, 'cause Bessie likes to lounge in the sun, too. When she gets too hot she moves to the grass in the shade to cool off just to return to the sun again! Silly doggies. Winks. Mom wants to give Bentley a big kiss on his head (so does Bessie)! -Valentine (& Mom) of Noir Kitty Mews

  21. You sure had an eventful Independence Day! I'm glad everything has settled down now. And thank you for joining in on the Friendly Fill-Ins! I am just like you when it comes to #1. Like Bentley, though, my pup Astrid seems to enjoy sitting out in the heat. She does not like to get hot when out on a walk, understandably, but she will sit out in the yard and refuse to come inside even on a 90°F or nearly 100°F day. And I agree 1000% on #4. I have never met a kitty or puppy that doesn't make me ooh and aww. Have a beautiful day!

  22. We're glad your 4th was quieter, but sorry about all that crazy rain! Our heat wave finally ended so we've been much more comfortable here.
I always love seeing those sunflowers and tulips!!
