Fetch a Yaheetech Dog Playpen

Have I mentioned that Bentley and Pierre are barkers? I am not talking about the kind that work on carnival midways. No, I am talking about my two senior dogs who become an obnoxiously loud duo when they run around in the backyard. Most of the time, they can go outside, be perfectly quiet, sniff the perimeter, and nap on the patio. We live on a corner and at certain times of the day, people walk their dogs along our sidewalk. This is not something the Bayou Boys can tolerate and are very vocal about it. We have often said if we could just contain them in a smaller area, it would relieve the problem. They don’t bark when they are on their leashes or contained.

Barking from the Bayou received an 8-panel 40” Yaheetech Dog Playpen in exchange for an honest review. We only share products that we feel will benefit our readers. All opinions are our own.

Enter Yaheetech® and their incredible dog playpens. They have six size options available at their online store so we were able to find the perfect size for our dogs. The box arrived on our doorstep in just a few days. I was so excited!

Our playpen came packed securely and the setup was so easy. We didn’t even need any tools. All you do is take the panels and connect them with the long pins provided. One of the best things about these is the variety of shapes you can make. The dog playpen we chose is their heavy-duty 8 panel 40-inch model.

The door is easy to open and close. It uses a j-shaped latch that keeps it from slipping like some kennels or enclosures. Each panel is approximately 31.5 x 40” and when you aren’t using it, the entire playpen folds flat for storage or travel. This would be perfect if you are camping or visiting someone without a fenced yard. Remember, you can always use fewer panels to make a small pen.

Living in south Texas means we can enjoy our patio most of the year. It is so relaxing to sit out and enjoy a cup of coffee in the evening with my husband and our dogs. The problem is as I explained at the beginning, they bark at everything that moves beyond the fence. Now we can put our Yaheetech playpen around the patio and it is ‘out of sight, out of mind’ as they lay down and snooze at our feet.

The playpen also allows us to do yard work while they are outside with us. They don’t like being left inside when we are trying to do things without their snoopervision! As you can see, Pierre is still in the snoopervisor position.

To put it simply, I love our Yaheetech dogplaypen. The boys can stay out in the yard and not be tempted to bark. We use the octagon and dog run (1 panel on each end and 3 on each side) shape the most. I was concerned about Bentley, our Basset Hound, being able to step over the doorway but he has no problem. Of course, Pierre jumps right over it.

As you can see, they both have plenty of room to move around, lay down or wrestle. The long pins can be pushed into the ground to help anchor the pen. We move ours around and change the shape often, If you are using your playpen outside of a fenced yard, I’d recommend securing it in the ground with the pins.

Our Yaheetech Dog Playpen checks all the boxes for our needs.

• It is easy to put up and take down.

• Sturdy

• Folds flat

• Safely keeps our dogs secure

  2. We reviewed one a while back and amazingly, we don't use it a lot, but we do use it here and there. As a matter of fact, we had it up just yesterday. It's much more useful than we ever imagined!

  5. We're glad this is working well for your pups. We have a fenced yard already, and Chester barks at people who walk by, but not for very long. But thanks for the great review!

  7. When we got ours, I was so impressed with how easy it was to put together and take apart! While we haven't used it a lot yet, I know it's going to come in handy in the future. I'm so glad it's working well for you - what a great idea to put it around the patio!
