The No-Brush Way to Your Pet's Dental Health

*This post was created in partnership with Espree® Oral Care Gel. I received complimentary products and compensation to facilitate my review, but all opinions within are my own.
Did you know that 80% of dogs over 3-years-old show signs of dental disease? That's a staggering statistic but what can we do to help? There are things that you can do to avoid your dog becoming a statistic. Good oral hygiene is imperative to avoid a host of problems. It can add years to your best friend's life.
Brushing is wonderful but not all dogs enjoy the experience. Dental chews are good but don't help much in removing the build-up or whitening. If your pet hates getting their teeth brushed, are they destined for periodontal disease? Not anymore! Can you get rid of the plaque and tartar your pet already has on their teeth? You can now!
Introducing Espree Oral Care. Espree is already the #1 trusted brand in the pet grooming industry with its all-natural, wholesome pet care line, so it’s no surprise they are now helping our dogs and cats have healthier teeth and gums.
I’m lucky because Bentley and Pierre like having their teeth brushed. I must admit that we sometimes only brush once or twice a week. Both boys have plaque and tartar I haven’t been able to get rid of with brushing alone. When the opportunity to review Espree Oral Care Gel and Spray, I was anxious to give it a try. They report a noticeable difference in 14-30 days. We used the products for 30 days in the morning and at night. Brushing is not necessary but will speed up the results. During our review period, I brushed twice a week but didn’t feel as guilty about it.
The Espree Natural Oral Care Gel and the Spray are available in peanut butter and peppermint flavors. I chose peppermint because it’s one of my favorite scents. Getting rid of plaque and tartar are important but add in fresh peppermint kisses you’ve got yourself a winning combination. A veterinarian formulated both products with a natural blend of peppermint oil, grapefruit seed extract, thyme oil, and neem oil. The recipe helps get rid of bad breath and supports healthy gums.
Espree Oral Care Gel vs. Spray
To present a fair review of both the gel and spray, I alternated them during the trial period. My dogs love the gel and will try to break in line to get some. I've actually bribed them into coming indoors by showing them the bottle! It is easy to apply; squirt the recommended amount on your finger or a cotton-tipped swab and apply it to each side of their mouth directly along the gumline.
Pet dental care has never been easier than with Espree Natural Oral Care Spray. Bentley and Pierre weren’t as enthusiastic about the spray but it is great for dogs and cats that don't want your fingers or a swab in their mouths. For best results, Espree suggests withholding food or water for 30 minutes after application. I applied it after the boys' breakfast and dinner.
Our Results

We're very happy with the results and plan to continue using Espree along with brushing as part of our pet dental care. You can see from the comparison photos that their teeth are much whiter, and the plaque and tartar are beginning to dissolve. Their breath smells better too!
Pierre had more build-up than Bentley's but both of their teeth and gums look healthier. The plaque has dissolved on several places and with continued use, I expect all of it to be gone in a couple of months.
I am a believer in Espree's new Pet Natural Oral Care and look forward to continuing work on the Bayou Boys' cute smiles and pearly whites!

  2. Sounds like good stuff and those shiny, healthy chompers are so important! I don't think we would like spray in our mouths, but gel might be good.

  8. Mabel's teeth are in great shape But poor Hazel's are not. Neither one will tolerate brushing so we must look into this

  9. That looks pretty impressive! Luke is so difficult about having anything done to him, I know he'd be resistant to the sprayer, but the gel might work.

  14. WOW! That's an incredible difference. Ruby just had a dental this summer and sadly had to have several teeth pulled. She HATES having her teeth brushed so this sounds like a great option! Thanks for the review.
