The Pros of Probiotics

Have you ever noticed how many products and medications that we give our pets are the same as we take ourselves? My Golden Retriever and I used the same thyroid medicine. Bentley takes over-the-counter human allergy pills when necessary. One of the most popular supplements that both humans, dogs, and cats all benefit from is probiotics.
What are Probiotics?
Probiotics are live bacteria and yeasts that are good for your dog, cat or even you. They are excellent for the digestive system. There are billions of these gut-dwelling microbes in the system of all animals. Probiotics are good bacteria that keep the gut healthy. The name probiotics means “for life.”
The Bayou Boys took it after Bentley experienced a stomach issue a couple of years ago. The vet didn’t know what the problem was and prescribed probiotics. It turns out probiotics are awesome in a number of ways.
I mentioned yesterday we are helping Pierre lose a few excess pounds. One of the problems is that he vomits when his tummy gets empty. I believe adding FortiFlora probiotics from Purina® Pro Plan® Veterinary Diets will help. All I do is sprinkle an individual sachet on their food.
You can order FortiFlora containing 30 sachets of their veterinarian approved probiotics for $27.99 from Chewy.com. They also have FortiFlora probiotic for cats! Ordering from Chewy is easy and delivery is super-fast. If you have any questions, Chewy’s Agents of Awesome are there to help. I have “chatted” to them online before and they solved my problem in no time. You can call 1-800-672-4399 to talk to a REAL human 24/7 for any product questions or suggestions. Tell them Bentley & Pierre sent you!

  2. Our cats won't eat powdered supplements * sigh * It' an ongoing battle with senior Harvey but these look a terrific option for pups.

One thing I can say is Probiotics Work! We have both human and cat options here and the benefits are ongoing and really important.

  4. We have never tried them, and haven't seen a need for them. Mom doesn't take them either. We got some to try at BlogPaws, but are not seeing a need. If you have tummy troubles, then it sure would be a good idea.

  10. Mom started me with probiotics a couple of months ago. I took a break from them when Mom was traveling, but she plans to start me up on them again this week. My V-E-T says probiotics can be a good thing for pets.

  11. Our beagle Kobi used to vomit when he had an empty stomach too. We never knew what to do about it, wish we'd known then about this!
