Remember Me Thursday, #LightForPets Adoption

Today we are joining the Remember Me Thursday™ global awareness campaign with animal lovers and organizations across the world to light a candle in remembrance of the millions of orphan pets who lost their lives without the benefit of a loving home.  It is also shining a light on the millions of pets still waiting for their forever homes.
Mike Arms, President of Helen Woodward Animal Center, champions this movement.  He is the creator of both the International Pet Adoptathon and International Home 4 the Holidays program that along with other national animal organizations has placed 9.3 million pets in their forever homes since 1999.
He is partnered with Katherine Heigl’s Jason Debus Heigl Foundation, who works tirelessly to end the needless suffering of companion animals in America.  A number of celebrities are joining in shining the light on homeless pets by becoming Celebrity Luminaries.  These include Tony-winning actor Alan Cumming, Jackson Galaxy of “My Cat from Hell”, Dancing With The Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba, actresses Diane Keaton, and Kristen Chenoweth. By lighting a candle today, you are remembering those pets that have lost their lives and shining a light on those waiting to be adopted right now.  Share my candle then light a virtual candle of your own today by clicking here.  Together we can make a difference and shine the light on deserving pets everywhere.
Use #LIGHTFORPETS to share your thoughts and feelings about the importance of pet adoption and encourage others to spread the word about

  4. It is sad there are so many homeless pets. I know my sisters and I are not shelter dogs, but Mom's last dog was and all her cats have been shelter cats. One can only do so much. There are homeless humans as well. Sadly it seems to be a part of life.
