Halloween Spooktacular

Bentley: “Well, it’s finally Halloween.  I don’t mind telling y’all that I am a nervous wreck!  Don’t worry; it doesn’t have anything to do with ghosts, goblins, and zombies.  Those things are pup’s play compared to what I am facing.  I haven’t slept more than 47 hours in the past three days.”
Pierre: “Dude, you are going to wear a hole in the carpet if you don’t quit pacing.  If you’re not scared of zombies, is it by any chance kids squealing “TRICK OR TREAT” at the top of their sugary high voices?  I’ll be honest, it is a little like claws on a chalkboard to me.  I have no choice but to bark them up something fierce.”
Bentley: “No, it has nothing to do with the kids, monsters, or anything like that.  You do know what happens today, right?”
Pierre: “Yeah, I think we established it is Halloween.  Trick or treaters will invade our neighborhood by the droves all wanting candy.  It is the only day when kids are encouraged to accept candy from strangers.”
Bentley: “Pierre!!!  It is Halloween and that means it is the day of Dory’s huge party.  I get to take my sweetie Emma on our first date!  My paws are sweating.  I hope I can remember our dance moves.”
"Get your paws on a Caramel Apple!"
Pierre: “OMD!  That means I get to go cut a rug with Bailie.  She is so cute and we both like to laugh.  This is going to be a blast!  You know all of our friends will be at this party.  I heard Ruby is making special drinks, and Dory’s family has set up a bouncy house, a hayride, and a corn maze.  Woo Hoo P*A*W*T*Y!”
Bentley: “Oh, we are going to rock that corn maize.  Between my nose and my sweetie Emma’s scent tracking expertise, nobody will get through it faster than we will.  I’m getting pretty anxious now that the time has arrived.  Once I invited my girl, I knew there was no turning back, now I’ll just have to take some deep breaths and be my lovable self.  When we get on the hayride, I’m going to try to hold her paw.  Do not cramp my style, okay?”
"We hit the road to pick up our dates. ♥"
Pierre: “Let’s go get our costumes on and head over to pick up the girls.  I’m glad that we decided on a western theme.  Bailie is going to make a beautiful cowgirl.”
Bentley: “I know my Emma will be the prettiest girl at the whole dance.  I think I’ll be the envy of a lot of the guys.  Listen, I’m driving the car, so you and Bailie can squeeze in the back.  Yippee ki yay, we sure do look sharp.”

Bentley and Pierre drove to the GBGV girls’ place and were surprised to see them ready to go.  Emma and Bailie were absolutely adorable and the boys were proud as peacocks to be their dates.  Dory’s backyard was overflowing with awesome games, concessions, and what looked like every dog, cat, and other kind of pet in Blogville.  The spread of treats, food, and drinks were impressive, but Bentley, Emma, Pierre, and Bailie wanted to hit the dance floor.  After all, they had been practicing their moves via Skype for a couple of weeks.
They were glad to see that Dory and Zaphod, Stanley and Taffy, and Murphy and his girlfriend Ruby were already hopping and bopping to the band.  Bentley went over to request a special song and slipped a couple of MilkBones in the tip jar.  By the time he joined Emma, the band was playing their song.  We were lucky to have video of their dance routine.  Please enjoy, they’ve practiced really hard.

After enjoying a quick dance, the band switched to a slow song and the couples all swayed with their tails wagging in unison.  The boys grabbed drinks for themselves and the girls before they headed for the hayride.  It was so much fun and they laughed as Arty told ghost stories while the wagon wove through the haunted cornfield.  When the crazy scarecrow began to chase them, Emma jumped and Bentley was able to hold her paw.  It was the most romantic hayride ever considering the monsters and all.
Dory’s party was spooktacular and our foursome giggled and turned flips in the bouncy house, played pin the bone on the skeleton, bobbed for bones, and aced the corn maze.  At the end of the evening, they thanked Dory and wished her good luck at the town hall meeting tomorrow.  The boys paw bumped Murphy and Stanley wishing them good luck at the meeting.  It is an important Blogville Town hall meeting hosted by Mayoress Madi.  The doods, being politicians, took the opportunity to sneak a quick kiss off the girls’ cheeks.  Don’t worry; the Doodle Brothers only have eyes for Taffy and Ruby.
As Bentley and Pierre held the car doors open for their girls, they howled “Happy Halloween” to Dory and the rest of Blogville!  It was the best first date ever!
