There's No Place Like Home for the #Holidays

Do you have travel plans for the holidays?  If you are leaving town, is your dog going with you?  I never like to have to be away from Bentley for very long.  I miss him and worry about him.  It’s the old saying that nobody can take care of your “children” as well as you.  We thought about traveling for Thanksgiving.  I’m not ashamed to say that the thought of Bentley not being with me for the holiday was a deciding factor.  After all, I’ve been saving his Merrick Thanksgiving Dinner for this special day.

Luckily, I am not the only pet parent that would rather spend the holidays with my best dog.  This Rover.com infographic shows how others feel about whom they spend the holidays with this year.  Do you fall into this category?

I would also like to thank Robbin and Joseph Everett from
TPPC.tv.LLC – The Global Choice in Pet Related Media Entertainment.

They were so incredibly sweet to me yesterday as I gave my first radio interview.  If you’d like to hear it, click here.  The entire show was fun, but if you want to fast forward to my segment, it begins at the 19-minute point.  For those of you that were able to tune in, thanks so much!

  5. We will be together for the howl-i-days, of course. My mom said she couldn't enjoy a thanksgiving without me... we also hope that my dad hasn't to stay in the hospital for the howl-i-days when he has his appointment on monday.

  6. Mom and dad usually travel on vacation to The Canary Island in the wintertime, but not this year, because of Vaks. They don't want to leave him yet. He has just get used to all of us a few month ago and now feels we are his pack. They don't want to destroy this.

  7. That's a very interesting infographic. I hate to board our dog, and luckily we don't usually travel for the holidays. However we do have a good boarding facility (where he has daycare once a week) and last year we visited family at Thanksgiving. It was great, and Toby was just fine when we got home.

  9. Hey Bentley!
Wow, your peep has the right idea about staying home with you! My peeps plan to travel to see Frankie and Ernie for several days and I'm headed off to *gulp* doggy jail. OMD I hate that and they all do too. Anyway, glad you get to stay home where it's safe and warm and happy. Congrats to your Mom on that interview!

  11. I have travel plans, but I still can't decide what to do about the rats -- I'm going to spend several days at my parents house. If the rats come with me, they'll get a lot more attention than if I have a pet sitter, but at my parent's house, they do have to stay in a fairly small cage. Decisions, decisions....

  12. The kitties are staying home, but Max will be traveling with us to visit family. Being a dog has some extra perks! Hope you have some fun plans, too. Happy Pet Parading! ~Rascal and Rocco

  13. We'll be home in Canada as we already had Thanksgiving. However we are planning to go away at Christmas. Unfortunately Kilo could not cope with travel so we will have a babysitter I trust. Have a great weekend XS

  14. We've used Rover.com several times and have always had a great experience. We also hate leaving the fluffies as no one can take care of them like us! ;) Our travel is definitely determined by whether we can take them and how comfortable we feel leaving them.

  15. We're glad our mom and dad-guy rarely go anywhere. We don't like them to leave us.

  16. We HATE leaving our guys at home....but we know they will be find, as they stay with Bites Brother Mickey, and the playtime never stops....cause when we get home and the happy time is over they sleep for days. If we couldn't leave them is safe hands they would always go with us, no matter what the cost!

  18. We always leave the cats at home, and have a pet sitter come in to feed and play with them. We're staying home this year, which is even better!

  19. We definitely prefer to stay home with the dogs! Luckily we are going to Thanksgiving dinner with family, but they live in the same town as us, so we don't have to be gone for more than a few hours. :)
