Sibling Rivalry or Monkey See, Monkey Do

Bentley loves relaxing on my lap while I rub his belly.
Pierre doesn’t want to miss out on the attention so he always joins us. I have become an expert at scratching two dogs at the same time. I don't know if it is sibling rivalry or a case of monkey see, monkey do.

Do your dogs or cats insist on equal time?

  1. Phenny does the same when mark is too close (security distance is 1 yard)... I think in our case it's the monkey thing... or weimadness :O)

  2. It's okay, Pierre! Humphrey often suffers from the 'green-eyed monster'! Whenever Brando is in the limelight, Humphrey is never far behind!

  7. Good thing we have 2 hands to take care of those little monkeys although the newest one all too often boxes the other one out. LOL

  8. I totally commiserate! Beau is extremely competitive and will come from another room if he hears Gonzo get any attention.- Heather Wallace, Bridle & Bone

  12. Yes, Stanley really keeps an eye out for any attention I might be getting. I'm not too bothered about him getting pets though.

  13. Oh yes, Luke can't stand it when Cricket is getting attention and he's not! If Cricket is giving me kisses, he has to stick his head in there and start doing it too!

  16. In our house if you are giving one attention the other needs it too!

  17. We have that issue here, too. Lots of pushing and shoving when momma is handing out the loving!

  18. I've got the same monkey #business going on in my house too! I massage Harley's spine and Jaxson will walk in the room - then throw himself on the floor and wait for his turn. Silly Doodles!

  19. Oh, it's totally sibling rivalry! If I even whisper Icy's name, I swear Phoebe comes barreling over to see what kind of attention Icy is getting that she is not, LOL!

  20. It's sibling rivalty, for sure. Luckily, with two humans and two cats, there's enough petting and cuddles to go around. :)

  22. I don't have to share anymore! Life is good☺

  23. To be honest, no, I do not like sharing my huMom.
Even if it's my canine fursister Q, my feline fursister Dot or my pigbro GG.
I know how to wiggle in & make sure all that love & attention is directed at me & only me; unless Dot has her claws out. Then I let her have some huMom time.

  24. LOL I had to laugh. I did a post on sibling rivalry and you did one on the same day. Great minds and all that!

  25. I am figuring out how to handle this right now! Molly has always been really independent. She comes and gets attention when she wants it (or when I insist on loving on her) but otherwise she's happy off on her own. Pug is my co-dependent, stage-5 clinger. Now I've added a second pug, I'm trying to balance velcro dogs!
