Spring has sprung here on the bayou. Our flowers are blooming much earlier than they normally do and temperatures are already in the upper 80’s. I have to admit that we didn’t have much of a winter at all. Seeing all of the freezing weather in other places makes me wonder what happened here. We don’t usually get snow but at least have days where we need a coat. Not this season, I think we had one really cold weekend. We are ahead of schedule but we have to say, “Welcome Spring!”
Bentley: “Pssst, Pierre do you see that dog walking over there? She is really cute. Is she coming this way?”
Pierre: “Hubba, hubba! I think she is looking at us. Let’s strike a cool manly pose.”
Bentley: “Nailed it!”
Pierre: “Oh yeah, man!”

It was a pretty easy Winter here in NJ as well. Not quite Spring weather here yet, but some of the flowers think it is already. Looks like you had a great day for a walk with that lovely blue sky!
ReplyDeletethe same here in florida - the azaleas started flowering over a week ago - also means early hayfever :)
ReplyDeleteIt has been a really weird winter for all of us! To have temps near 70 in Upstate NY in FEBRUARY is unheard of...we have broken all kinds of records. The flowers and plants are all confused...we got snow last night and two days ago it was 70! It will stay cold for about two days ... then back to 65 again. So strange!! I would wilt if I lived on the Bayou...At about 75, I head in to the A/C! :) It should be an interesting southern trip for us this year...we usually hit Myrtle Beach before it gets too hot so it pretty much stays in the 70's. I am not really sure where you live...I should have looked in to it when we were closer to Gulfport / Biloxi. We drove to New Orleans for the day, but it was SO humid!! And that was in April. Ha!
ReplyDeleteThis winter was a terrible bust, especially when the ankle busted! That pretty much was the last straw! Paws crossed for a better winter next year. Super cute photo of you two in the grass!
ReplyDeleteWe hear ya! It's been quite a strange winter that is for sure! DakotasDen
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful season. Hope we get lots of wildflowers but maybe to much rain this year.

YAY for spring in the Bayou! We hope after this weekend's cold snap that will be it and Dixie will have real spring. It has been unseasonably warm here the last two weeks too...now tonight we have a frost warning and everything is blooming too
