Where in the World Have We Been?

Bentley Basset Hound and Pierre Westie are happy to be relaxing on their couch
Bentley and Pierre are glad to be home after spending the past nine days at the Bed & Biscuit Pet Resort. It is a great place where they share a private room. They never mind going but this was the longest we have been separated. We were all happy to be together again.
A U-Haul and car in Utah
This was Skipper's view for 2,700 miles and 7 states.
He followed the U-Haul and my daughter-in-law's car where I was riding.
You are probably wondering where in the world we went and why the boys couldn’t go with us. (At least, that is what they are wondering!) Our son and his family including Paisley the BFTB NETWoof Weather Lab relocated from Washington State to Texas. You might remember the guest post, “The Long Winding Road or How to Move across the Country with Your Dog” that he wrote last year. His work brought him back down south so we went to help them with their move. He drove the U-Haul, my daughter-in-law drove her car (I had the BEST assignment since I got to sit in the back seat to take care of my precious grandbaby) and my husband drove their other car.

The trip took five days of driving to reach our destination. It was fun and tiring. I will share more about our adventure with more photos next week.

  2. They were living the life while you did the hard work of moving. I don't know if I could make 9 days without my dog. Bet you all were happy to see each other.

    1. They drove 10-12 hours each day with stops for breaks thrown in. I was glad to be a passenger.

  4. Rest up, boys. Your parents owe you big time, so there will be lots of treats and cuddles coming your way. That said, the adventure sounds like a LOT of fun and. a LOT of excitement. 2 doggies along would have been just too much. Best of luck to the young family in their new home.

    1. Thank you! Paisley the Weather Lab rode in the U-Haul with her Daddy. I think she slept most of the ride. Bentley and Pierre would not have enjoyed themselves at all.

  5. We've moved cross-country before, but didn't have the added fun of a baby (plus 2 cars) to move with us. What an adventure! (We sold our junkie car at one end, then drove the UHaul to our new home... and boy, didn't the car salesmen know they had a live one when we drove into the lot in that thing?!)
Looks like the boys are beat! We soon will be leaving Rita behind for a trip and I still haven't figured out what we're going to do with her. (Have back up plans but hoping for something better...) Stressful to be away from the furkids!

    1. I am sure the car salesman was ecstatic to see you! It is hard to leave them behind but they would have been miserable. Plus, we flew up there and they can't fly. LOL!

  8. Wow! What a big trip! When my Jessy moved from NY to Florida, she had all her stuff shipped in a big box on a truck. Then her Dan flew up, and they both took turns driving her car to Florida. It's tough to move across the country!

  16. Mom left Taffy and the cat for 8 days and had a house/pet sitter, or at least she thought she did. Not good so hopefully she won't have to do it again. Mom wants to know if this is the same son that is actually Pierre's dad? Love Dolly
