Every American knows exactly where they were and what they were doing when they heard the news that the United States had been attacked by terrorists. It is hard to believe that it’s been eighteen years since that horrific morning but the feelings of how violated we felt and how we all came together as a country united against a common enemy feels like yesterday in many ways and yet a lifetime ago from how we are today. The stores sold out of American flags and strangers embraced one another in comfort. I hope we never experience another attack, but I look forward to the day we are once again a united nation that cares for each other.

all good people of the world will remember... and they will stand together...
ReplyDeleteMy mum remembers it well. It was around 2pm here in England and she'd just turned on the TV and it was all over the news :(
ReplyDeleteWe will never forget.
ReplyDeleteWe must somehow, some way, some day ... come together again.
ReplyDeleteMom was living in Germany at the time, so it wasn't as dramatic as it was over here. Life went on as normal, but she watched a lot of CNN she says.
ReplyDeleteWe will always remember, always.
ReplyDeleteNever forget.

ReplyDeleteToday is one of those iconic and contemplative days not to be forgotten. 🇺🇸
ReplyDeleteVery well said! Yes, 18 years, unbelievable, yet it can feel like yesterday because we remember it so well. :(
ReplyDeleteWe will never forget
ReplyDeleteWe can't/won't ever forget. Everyday we read about another first responder who is sick. Thank you for the post. TW found out on the elevator going up to her office. If she would have looked out the window of the bus rather than sleeping, she'd have seen the smoke and the burning building. She saw it from her office window and Pop saw it up close and personal.
ReplyDeleteGod bless all the lost souls and they family they left behind and hugs and understanding for all the missed moments they could have shared over the last 18 years.
ReplyDeleteHugs cecilia
What a wonderful post. We will never forget!
ReplyDeleteIf there was one shining light that came from this horrible day it's how Americans came together in sadness. We will never forget.
