Dogs’ ears come in all shapes and sizes depending
on the breed. Pierre has cute little perky ears while Bentley’s long velvety
ears drag the ground. No matter what the size or shape of your dog’s ears, they
probably enjoy having them rubbed.
That’s because their
ears are one of several nerve centers on a dog’s body that is extra sensitive
to being touched. The pleasure they feel is intense and those good feelings
extend to their internal organs. Putting gentle pressure on the ears sends
nerve impulses all through their bodies.
Rubbing your dog’s
ears is also beneficial to you! It is not only relaxing, but it causes a flood
of endorphins to be released and lowers your blood pressure.
Bentley and Pierre recommend rubbing your dog’s ears at least once a day.

We love ear rubs and sometimes we even rub each others ears. Madison especially likes to do that.
ReplyDeleteI rub the ears of every cat I meet; some like it, some not so much. But the fur on their ears is like velvet...mmmmmmm....
ReplyDeleteAngel Madi had velvety ears...I loved rubbing them and she enjoyed it too

Ears to a fun day you two!
ReplyDeleteNo wonder I do it and the dogs demand it. It does make us all feel better. Happy Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteYup! We all enjoy a good ear scratch!
ReplyDeleteI do love to rub an ear!!!
ReplyDeleteLuke likes his ears rubbed, but you have to do it just right. No touching of the ends of the ears is allowed, and not even the slightest pull either (our beagle Kobi used to be the exact same way too)!
ReplyDeleteWorks for some cats too ;) Purrs, Zorro
ReplyDeleteWe love having our ears rubbed too!
ReplyDeleteThat's so sweet, Bentley and Pierre. Gracie and Ava love having their ears rubbed, too!
ReplyDeleteWhat great information, all of our pups love having their ears massaged!
ReplyDeleteOur pups both love having their ears rubbed, but Dav, in particular, gets right into it. She will actually start moaning and leaning into it - there's no questioning the fact that she's a fan!
