Me: “It is hard to believe that seven years have passed since we began Barking from the Bayou.”
Bentley Basset: “Of course, that is human years which means Pierre and I have been blogging for forty-nine years. Do we need to talk about a retirement plan?”Pierre Westie: “Hang on there one minute! I am way too young to think about retirement. I have lots of things left to bark about and our readers count on us to give them something to smile about once a week.”
Me:
“Gosh,
do y’all remember when we first started out, we were blogging seven days a
week. It was all new and exciting to be a pet blogger back then. Our blog was
one of thousands, but we managed to get a loyal following. We’ve gone from posting
daily to three times to once a week and still get around 40,000 visits a month.
That represents over two and a half million visitors! There aren’t words to
tell everyone how much we appreciate your support.”
Bentley: “How often we post
isn’t the only change that has happened over the years. We moved from Louisiana
to Texas almost three years ago! That was a great decision, and we love living
here. There are so many places to walk and our weather is nice.”
Pierre:
“It
is a wonder that we have had any spare time to walk after publishing over 1,714
posts! That is a lot of barking AND our readers have left more than 42,380
comments. We love reading what y’all have to say. Unless you ask us a specific question,
we don’t post replies because Blogger won’t share them with you. I promise that
we read each and every comment.”
Dr.Harvey’s has been an amazing sponsor and affiliate partner since almost the
beginning of our blog. Their products have kept the Bayou Boys healthy and
happy for years. The veterinarians are always so happy with their checkups. I
recommend Dr. Harvey’s complete line of amazing all-natural products 100%.”
Bentley:
“I
love them so much and we only represent companies that we believe in with all
our hearts.
There
have been other changes since December 13, 2013. We have two little humans
called granddaughters and they keep us on our paws. The girls call us ‘their
dogs’ and that makes us incredibly happy. We still need to teach them to rub a belly
but that will come in time.”
Pierre: “Mom and Dad have made some amazing changes over the past two years. They began eating a keto diet and after losing some weight, they began riding bikes. The difference has been astounding and this year, they’ve ridden over 3,500 miles! We are proud and have encouraged them to share more about their journey on our blog.”
Me: “Thanks, Pierre. We are going to be making some changes in the coming year and one of them will be concentrating on living our best senior lives. All four of us are considered seniors and it’s important for dogs, cats, and humans to take care of themselves as we grow older. Along
with how the boys are living their best lives as 9- and 13-year-old dogs, Skipper
and I will be sharing some of the things we are doing to stay healthy in our 60’s.
We look forward to this new adventure as we grow older together.
Bentley,
I can’t help but notice how white your sweet face has gotten over the last few
years. It reminds me how precious our time is together.”
Bentley:
“Hey,
let she who has not used L’OrĂ©al recently cast the first stone. Am I right,
Pierre?”
Pierre:
“You
aren’t going to get me into this conversation. It is too close to Santa Paws’
visit for me to get put on the naughty list!
Let’s
say thank you to everyone for their continued support and love. We hope to fetch
more BFTB NETWoof News, reviews and laughs as we head into our 8th
year!”

ReplyDeleteAwww, how life does change ~ dramatically, over the years! We're glad you have shared all these years with us and hope to have you here for many, many more. Love seeing Bentley, Pierre (and
ReplyDeleteyes: the two beautiful little peeps!) ... paws up on a job well done. June wants to remind B and P that she's been told (tho way off in the future for her) that "seven is the age of reason" so they must always be very reasonable about everything they do ... not that they haven't been before. Happy Blogging, Happy Christmas to All .. and Stay Safe. (June and Ann)
Congratulations to you boys and your parents! We are so happy to have all of you as friends. The move we think it the best thing that has happened to your family. Sometimes getting a completely fresh start kick starts good things and for you all, that is the case. Blogging has changed a lot, we do it pretty much because we enjoy it now, but we miss the way it used to be too. Best wishes for many more years of amazing blogging!
