Five Cures for Puppy Fever

It’s National Puppy Day and if you are like me, puppy fever is easier to catch than the common cold. All I need is one whiff of puppy breath and I’m in the throes of an uncontrollable desire to hear the pitter patter, pitter patter of four tiny paws.
What’s not to love about a puppy? They are adorable furry balls of fun and kisses. It is difficult to think of any reason not to add a new puppy to the household, right?
Now that I think about it, there is a cure for puppy fever. You just need to remember your last puppy. Puppies are HARD WORK!
Love a puppy! Happy National Puppy Day with Paisley the Lab sleeping
1. They don’t sleep through the night which means you don’t either.
Accidents happen a lot and you will need plenty of time, paper towels, and patience to house train your new bundle of joy.
2. Everything that fits goes into a puppy’s mouth and possibly their tummy. Large objects such as shoes or furniture become expensive chew toys.

The Long Winding Road or How To Move Across the Country With Your Dog

*I am proud to share Barking from the Bayou’s first guest post. It was written by my son, Dustin Clinton and recounts his experience moving across the country. He was joined in the moving van by our BFTB Weather Lab Paisley while my husband drove their truck with our daughter-in-law and granddaughter. I hope that you enjoy his story.

Paisley Dreaming

Paisley is such a joy to watch play, but I have to admit that she is adorable when she sleeps.  I love to watch as she stretches out to dream.

Meet Paisley the Puppy

Yesterday was super exciting for our family.  We welcomed a new granddog! Our son and his wife added a precious puppy to their family.  Her name is Paisley and she is a six-week old chocolate Lab.  We went over to see her, give her puppy presents, and get some puppy love.  She is adorable, bouncy, and full of curiosity.
Don’t take my word for it.  Here she is…Paisley!
