 Mom, Dad & Pierre: “Bentley! Hey, Bentley!! BENTLEY!!! Wake up!”

Bentley: “What in the world is all the commotion? Why would y’all be hollerin’ at me when I’m clearly not through sleeping? I am not deaf, ya know.”

 Mom, Dad & Pierre: “HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! We love you!”

Bentley: “Awww, thanks you guys. That is really sweet of y’all to remember. Now, if you’ll excuse me, nature calls.”

Happy 12th Birthday, Bentley!

Bentley: “Hey Pierre! Instead of the news, we get to tell everyone about my furbulous twelfth birthday. That’s right, I celebrated turning the BIG 1-2 yesterday so I thought you would like to see how we paw-tied on the Bayou.”

   I was so excited to get a brand-new *Lambchop. Pierre is a known serial Lambchop killer so I’m going to try to keep this baby away from him. You can see that he is already eyeing it!

Happy 8th Birthday Pierre

   It is hard to believe but our little man is turning eight years old today! Pierre is the happiest dog we’ve ever had, and we have had some incredibly happy dogs. He doesn’t have a mean bone in his body and loves to play. His attitude is to have fun, live in the moment, and always smile. Maybe that is why he’s so happy!  

Welcome to My 11th Birthday Party

Bentley: “Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes. It really means a lot to me. My 11^th birthday was a lot of fun. We all went for a walk in the afternoon around our neighborhood. Mom brushed me for an extra-long time because she knows how much I love it. Mom and Dad both gave me lots of hugs and belly rubs. Add some yummy cookie with ice cream and it was a perfect day!

 I promised to share some of the pictures from my birthday party so I hope you enjoy these. I’ll be your moderator for the festivities.

Happy 11th Birthday Bentley

   It’s my birthday and as you can tell, I’m thrilled to be turning 11 years old.

   Seriously, this senior dog still feels like a pup most days. Mom and Dad make sure I always have great food from Dr. Harvey’s which is very important to my overall health. Playing is an important key to staying young so I get some running and chasing in each day. Having Pierre around has definitely helped keep me spry! He can sometimes be a typical little brother but I don’t know what I’d do without him.

Party on the Bayou

Pierre Westie: “SQUEEEE!! Today is my 7th birthday and I’m so excited to show you pictures of my party. We celebrated a day early so my mom could be there. I can’t tell you how tail-wagging happy I was to be able to spend this momentous occasion with her. Best. Day. Ever.

An Interview with a Really Old Mother

Bentley Basset Hound: “It’s Mom’s birthday and we always enjoy interviewing her on this momentous occasion. Pierre and I have written down some of our burning questions so let’s get right to them.”

Pierre Westie: “Happy birthday Mom! How are you feeling? At your age, aches and pains must be a part of life. Exactly how old are you anyway?”

Me: “You aren’t supposed to ask a lady her age. Let’s just say I’m not quite a senior citizen.”

Bentley came into our lives after a friend received him as a surprise birthday party gift. As I’m sure most of you do at parties, I spent the entire time loving on the 10-week-old Basset Hound.

Behind the Scenes at a Basset Birthday Party

   “I, Bentley Basset Hound celebrated my 9^th birthday on Saturday, December 3^rd. My mom, dad, and Pierre gave me a party. What you might not realize is there ain’t no party like a Basset Hound party! Let me take you behind the scenes at my big bash.

   We started with a delicious dinner of baked hamburger surrounded by Dr. Harvey’s Veg-to-Bowl with a few bananas added for flair. It was the perfect beginning to the evening. It looked better than what Mom and Dad ate.

   I can’t believe that it has been 8 years since Bentley joined our family. He is without a doubt the most special dog I’ve ever loved. ♥ If you haven’t read “Bentley’s Story,” take a few minutes and discover how he came to be my soul dog.

   We will celebrate today with a special dinner, treats, pupcakes and doggie ice cream. Oh, did I mention presents? Yes, he has a few gifts to enjoy. It should be a very fun day!

Happy Birthday Pierre

Bentley: “Hey Pierre!  SURPRISE!!  Guess what is special about today?”

Pierre: “Aww, y’all remembered.  Is there cake and presents?  Will there be a party with the birthday song?”

Me: “Happy fourth birthday, little man.  Of course, we will have a party later today.  We are going to show our friends a picture of you in your birthday suit.”

Pierre: “You can’t be serious!  How will I ever be seen in public again?”

Me: “I’m talking about the birthday suit we bought at Petco.  Since it’s your big day, why don’t you take over from here?  Bentley and I need to go get things ready for your party.”

Pierre: “I could get used to this special treatment.  It all started yesterday when we loaded up and rode to the pet store.  They had small buggies that were the perfect size for me to get a good look at everything.
