GEAUX means GO at LSU!
Here on the bayou, we love this time of year. It is not the cooler weather, it is not the pumpkin spiced everything, and it is not the upcoming holiday season. It is the kick-off of college football or more importantly, the kick-off of
We are so excited!
The question is…Are You A Football Fanatic?
Ten Signs of a Football Fanatic
1. You have a set of pre-game rituals that MUST be followed. Failing to complete rituals could result in a bitter loss for your team.
2. Your neighbors have learned to ignore blood-curdling screams coming from your house during a game.
3. It is okay for you to trash talk your team, but you’re offended if someone else does it.
4. You and your pets have matching team jerseys and the hundreds of selfies to prove it.
5. Officials that make calls against your team are blind, but are brilliant when it is a call in your favor.
6. You own a complete set of partyware with your team logo including a deluxe grill set.
7. When you discover a friend is for a rival team, you have to re-evaluate your friendship.
8. You always have a backup plan for power outages.
9. You send your regrets to anyone who would dare to schedule a wedding or funeral during game time.
10. All phone calls go to voicemail. Sorry, but there are no emergencies during the game.
We wish all of the teams a safe and exciting season!

ReplyDeleteWe like our Gophers and our loser Vikings, watch the games most of the time, but not fanatics. Mom says she is a fanatic about our dog sports, though!

ReplyDeleteOur area is big with the Broncos and the Wyoming Cowboys. Personally not a big fan, but I usually hear the updates.
ReplyDeleteOMD...You are talking about our house too!! Except we wear Burnt Orange on Saturday for the Texas Longhorns and White, Blue and Red on Sunday for the NY Giants (Arty wears Red and Gold for the SF 49ers).
ReplyDeleteMama is a crazy football FAN-atic (even more than Daddy!)!!

BOL. But not me!
ReplyDeleteHahaha, I love football season.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I are big NY Jets fans. Which is a tough thing to be, at all times. BabyBelle loves the Dallas Cowboys. I think its all the blue. And my husband loves Notre Dame football. It's a religion to him. I'll pretty much watch any game, as long as it's not the Patriots. I loathed them after their last cheating scandal (prior to the most recent one). And the ravens....dirty birds. Yuck.
happy to say I have not a single atom in my body that is even remotely interested in football :)
ReplyDeleteI's wearin my UCLA dress right now! Go Bruins!
ReplyDeleteWe like football...but we don't think we're fanatical about it!
ReplyDeleteThose seem like perfectly normal behavior to us.
ReplyDeleteThat's us!! We love football too!
ReplyDeleteHilarious and true

Our mom isn't quite a full fledged football fanatic but she does have a few of the traits you list. She thinks that for #7 you don't reevaluate your friendship but instead place a healthy bet on the next match up.
ReplyDeleteHave a great football season.
ReplyDeleteYep, we're fanatics. So much so that we actually stayed up waiting for that LSU game to resume Saturday night. Uugghh! (Our humans actually breathed a sigh of relief that they weren't in the stands for that one . . . but don't tell anyone I told you that!) Well, there's always this week. My little sister, Tallulah, is from a Mississippi State family, but we're working on reforming her. ;-)
