Dr. Harvey's ambassador disclaimer
For over 30 years Dr. Harvey has been making life better for companion animals. He has been at the forefront of the all-natural pet food movement and continues to forge ahead of the pack. This has never been truer than with his new specially-blended “green food” pre-mix, Paradigm. It is the ideal base for a low-carb or Ketogenic diet.

How Can Paradigm Help My Dog?
Paradigm is a revolutionary new way to help dogs prevent, manage and overcome obesity, weakness in the immune system, diabetes, seizure disorders, neurological disorders, and cancer. To start with, this amazing pre-mix has no grain, starch or fillers but it does contain powerful healing herbs to improve health and purify the blood. The blend of low glycemic veggies digests slowly to prevent glucose levels from spiking. Powerful antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals support your dog’s body system and aid in healing. The low-carb formula robs cancer cells of their glucose energy supply.
Dr. Harvey worked with holistic vets and medical researchers to formulate Paradigm. They confirmed the top health issues harming our dogs are made worse by having sugar and carbs in their diet.
Quote from Dr. Karen Becker
How does Paradigm compare to kibble?
I almost had to snicker when I wrote that question. We have been feeding our dogs Dr. Harvey’s food for two years now and the difference in them is incredible. There simply is no comparison to kibble but let me give it a try.
The average kibble is a highly processed product that might sit on the shelf for months. Not only that but it takes a minimum of 40% starches to get kibble to stick together. Read the ingredients on a bag of average kibble and you will discover it contains things like corn, rice, potatoes, and fillers. You’ll also find chemicals that you have no idea what they are or how they are affecting your best friend. These ingredients can cause a rapid glucose spike which contributes or worsen diabetes. Paradigm is made from only low glycemic vegetables which allow complex carbs to be digested slower. As a result, glucose levels are spread safely over time and prevent a dangerous spike in levels.
Paradigm's Incredible Ingredients
Pet food companies have done a great job at convincing pet parents that the more colorful and fun a food bag is, the better our pets will like it. Even the food itself is colored to make it look like fresh meat and veggies. Dogs don’t care what the bag looks like or how the food looks. They want food that tastes good. It is up to us to decide if we want to feed chemically processed kibble or fresh food made with proteins and oils that we add. A look at the recent kibble recalls can make that decision pretty easy. If that wasn’t enough, the cases of cancer, obesity, and diabetes are steadily on the rise in dogs across the country. It’s time to say “no” to feeding inadequate dog food made from mystery meats, fillers, powders, and unnecessary chemicals.

Is it difficult to prepare Paradigm?
No, like all of Dr. Harvey’s pre-mix foods, preparing Paradigm is very easy. The first thing that I noticed when I opened the bag is how yummy this pre-mix smells! Bentley and Pierre noticed too and hung close by while I prepared their dinner according to the directions
1.  Add hot water to Paradigm and let it sit for 8 to 12 minutes. Stir occasionally. (Waiting is the most difficult part for your dogs)
2.  Add your choice of proteins. Beef, poultry, lamb, fish, eggs, etc. are all terrific. It is important to rotate proteins each week. You can feed raw or slightly cooked.
3.  Add the oil of your choice. Flax, borage, olive, hemp, MCT oil, coconut oil, fish oil, krill oil, Dr. Harvey’s Health and Shine or any healthy oil you choose will work. Rotate these also.
4.  Mix thoroughly and serve at room temperature. I add extra water to the boys’ food but still make sure they have plenty of fresh drinking water. *Pierre gets so excited that he paces and barks while Bentley sticks to me like glue as I put the food into their bowls. They do not look up until their bowls are licked clean.

Our Conclusion
We love Dr. Harvey’s complete line of all-natural foods, supplements, and treats. Bentley and Pierre get excellent veterinary check-ups and have maintained their ideal weight for over two years. I am quick to give the credit to Dr. Harvey’s. I will follow-up with how they are doing on Paradigm next month. I’m sure that I will continue to sing the praises of this one of a kind breakthrough pre-mix.

  9. Oh, I definitely would have included this in Sheba's cancer diet if it had been around then. It sounds wonderful, I love that ingredient list. I really have to get motivated to get all the way away from kibble.
BTW, it looks like green gruel! I had to laugh about that. Some of the foods we mix up look so unappetizing to us as humans, but those are the ones the dogs seem to love even more!

  12. I'd be curious to know how long a bag lasts. With Elsa's epilepsy, I'm always on the lookout for a high quality food to help control the epidemic-monster. Thanks for the review.

  13. It doesn't look very appetizing but dogs don't care about looks they only care about taste. It definitely sounds like a Super Food and very healthy. We use a very high quality kibble that doesn't contain the crummy ingredients that many others do. We top it with a wet food as well.
