One of the best things about our new city is it's dog-friendly. The neighborhood has beautiful trails where there are always dogs walking with their humans. There are poo bag dispensers along the pathways too. These are things that make a pet parent happy. It’s the little things we appreciate.
Moving to another state means finding a new groomer and favorite pet store. It is always scary to take Pierre somewhere the first time. He has been the victim of a bad “do” before so we visited and read a lot of reviews before deciding. We chose a groomer at our neighborhood Pet Supplies Plus groomer after meeting with her. Their reviews were awesome, so we took him in last Friday. It only took an hour and he was ready to be picked up. He looked so handsome and she was even able to trim his nails! We were happy. He was happy. #Studmuffin
We noticed Pet Supplies Plus has a self-serve dog wash! Oh. My. Dog. This was an absolute dream come true for me. I was so excited! This convenient idea was new to us, so I asked for more information. The tub has four choices of shampoo or you can bring your own. Each one has two grooming restraint loops, a water hose with an awesome sprayer and a high-power blow dryer. They also provide towels. It is my best find so far! #HoundDogHappiness
Bentley loves taking a bath, but it is always such a messy event. He likes to shake water everywhere and he has so much HAIR that I must keep from going down the drain. The clean-up is intense and from start-to-finish it takes about two hours. Being able to put him in the car kennel and drive down the street is the most convenient thing ever. We took him today and they trimmed his nails before we bathed him. The price for a self-serve bath is $10 but they offer 5 washes for $25. You have one year to use it but Bentley bathes at least once a month, so it was a no-brainer for me. It didn't take 30 minutes for him to go from stinky dog to being my sweet smelling boy. #BestBathEver
I LOVE the no clean-up, no sore back, and convenience of a self-wash station. Where and how do you wash your dogs? Let us know in the comments.
*I was not asked to write a review of my experience with Pet Supplies Plus. This is my personal opinion. You will find Amazon Affiliate links in the post.

Always know who is at your door before answering it. The Ring Video Doorbell even allows you to speak to visitors/delivery people from inside or while you are away. It is amazing. #LivingLikeTheJetsons
I would prefer to pass this job to a groomer... then phenny will not hate me but the groomer LOL
ReplyDeletePierre is not a fan of being groomed but Bentley really does love his baths. He doesn't like being dirty or smelly. I think his sensitive nose knows. BOL!
DeleteMom thinks this is just the most wonderful find! I get baths at home in my bathtub and mom spends an hour doing cleanup afterwards. Trust me - mom does NOT have the same smile on her face that your mom is wearing, Bentley!
ReplyDeleteThat was exactly what I was doing and it took a bit chunk of the day. This was super easy and fast. Their blow dryer was awesome!
DeleteIf something nasty happens, we get a bath in the guest bathroom, but otherwise, we go to the spa for a wash. We are not bath fans, and Mom isn't a big fan of giving us baths because it's a mess, and going to a self wash place seems like too much trouble. Enjoy your new bath place.
ReplyDeletePierre tolerates a bath but Bentley LOVES them. He has been known to go sound asleep during the blow dry time. The self-serve pet store is only minutes from the house and is much easier than bathing him at home. I never let anyone else give him a bath because I am so paranoid about his ears. We always put the purple stuff in them after bathing but getting water in his ears meant infections for so many years that it is ingrained in my psyche. We are officially 2 1/2 years infection free. PTL!
DeleteThat’s awesome! I will have to see if we have a self-wash facilty near us!
ReplyDeleteI am so impressed with this one. It was super clean and easy to use. The dryer was wonderful!
DeleteThat is sooooo cool!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt is the best thing EVER for Bentley's baths.
DeleteA self dog wash is heaven sent. Bathing dogs at home definitely has its negatives, the worst being spending hours cleaning up. Congrats on the cool find.
ReplyDeleteThanks! We didn't have them where we used to live so I was very happy to discover one just minutes from the house.
DeleteWe're glad you had good luck finding doggie grooming services you like in a new place. Bentley seems like he's being a good boy about that doggie car wash!
ReplyDeleteHe did really well. It was a new experience for all of us but we will be pros in no time!
DeleteWe're glad you found such a great place to take good care of the beauty of Bentley and Pierre ! Purrs
ReplyDeleteWe are too! Now we need to interview some veterinarians before time for their check-ups.
DeleteOHHHHHHHHHHHHH MYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY CATSSSSSSSSSSSSS that is about the best convenience I've ever seen. Way back in the dark ages (early 1970's) when we were owned by a mighty mini Dachshund
ReplyDeleteI would have loved that. Toto was only about 10 pounds of hound but boy could he shake.
We did have a water pik shower nozzle which helped but bending over the tub didn't make my back happy
Hugs Mom of Madi
Bending over the tub kills my knees so this is a magnificent find! Bentley doesn't shake hard but those ears can really make the water fly!
DeleteWe have one of those in the pet store in my town :)
ReplyDeleteThey are new to us and I am thrilled at not having to do the old tub scrub with Bentley anymore!
DeleteHow pawsome that you can give Bentley and Pierre baths yourself. Of course, we would never want to see the inside of that tub. ;)
ReplyDeleteI don't think too many cats would appreciate the joy of finding a self-serve wash since y'all can give yourself a thorough cleaning without a human! #LuckyCats
DeleteWe are pretty lucky and fit in the sink...easy peasy for Mama!
ReplyDeletexoxo,

Pierre might fit in our new sink but Bentley requires a tub and this one is perfect for both of us to enjoy.
DeleteWe qickly found a professional groomer in our new city. Poodles are not for amateur groomers
ReplyDeleteThere are so many ways to groom a poodle! Wesites are pretty basic but he has been botched before.
DeleteLookin good guys!
ReplyDeleteMomma bathes us in da tub at home. But yeah, it are a WET job and she usually bathes us in her bikini!
Pierre can drench me with two shakes. He will get a bath at the self serve too. I stayed dry!
DeleteWhat a great find! We get baths in the bathtub and yes it makes a mess and hurts mom's back
ReplyDeletehugs

It is the only way we have ever bathed the dogs with the exception of some driveways baths with our Golden Retriever. This makes it so simple and without the major clean-up.
Deletequite a few pet stores have those, great idea!
ReplyDeleteWe didn't have them where we used to live so I am super psyched!
DeleteThat is so cool! I love that it makes giving Bentley and Pierre baths so much easier. :)
ReplyDeleteWe have a walk-in shower that is the greatest for dog baths. The one thing that would be better about this is that it would be easier on my old back! I'm glad you found such a great place.

We're so glad you're finding treasures like this in your new home town!
ReplyDeleteThanks to our online friends, we just discovered a Pet Supplies Plus not far from us too! We're bringing Icy there this week, I can't wait. It's such a great find!
