Happy 2019

Two dogs celebrating 2019
We hope that you had a peaceful New Year’s Eve and we wish you the happiest 2019!
I will be busy cooking our traditional New Year’s Day meal of ham, black-eyed peas, cabbage, and cornbread.
Why have we eaten this every year for as long as I can remember? Here is your answer:
Ham is for progress
Black-eyed peas are for good luck
Cabbage is for money
Cornbread represents gold and eating it will bring you spending money!
2019 is going to start out very yummy.

  13. I never, ever knew that about cabbage and cornbread! I always thought it was the black-eyed peas that made one prosperous (and we never have them, so that must be why I am always broke! lol). Please remind me next year that I need to eat all 3 of those things (EVERY SINGLE DAY lol). Wishing you all a Happy, healthy, peace-filled New Year!
