Wet Dogs and Muddy Paws

This has been an exceptionally rainy spring here along the bayou.  That means dealing with wet dogs and muddy paws.  These are not two of my favorite things.  I have tried to reason with the boys, but the conversations are usually unproductive.
Brown paw print Luv & Emma's Dry Pets towel

Me: “Are y’all sure that you have to go outside now?  It is pouring down rain!”
Bentley: “I can’t hold it another second.  I’ll hurry and try to dodge the raindrops.  I promise.”
Pierre: “If Bentley gets to go, then I want to go too.  OMD!  It’s a squirrel in a mud puddle.  Hurry!”
Me: “Seriously boys, stay out of the mud.  Do your business and get back up here.  Try not to get super messy.”

Of course, they return after Pierre has chased the squirrels through several mud puddles and Bentley’s ears have been drug through the mud.

Bentley: “Mom!  We need inside so that we can roll on the carpet and dry ourselves.  There is no need to try absorbing all this mud and water with your flimsy towels.”
Pierre: “Don’t bother wasting paper towels either.  I seem to have gotten pretty muddy.  I don’t understand how it happened, but I’m blaming the tree rats!”
What the boys don’t know is that I recently won Luv & Emma’s™ Dry Pets Plus from my friend Rachel at My Kid Has Paws.  It is a super absorbent microfiber towel that has two patented stretchable holes making it easy to hang on any door knob or handle.

Me: “It’s no longer a problem.  This new towel is 36” x 23” and can absorb an incredible 32 ounces of water!  Even y’all can’t bring that much water inside.  I can dry both of you and it will still feel dry.”
Bentley: “You know, I saw that handsome brown paw print towel hanging on the door, but I thought it was just a lovely interior decorating decision.  Here, don’t miss my paws.  Ohhh, that feels so soft.  Can we use this for bath time?”
Pierre: “Yes, let’s use it to dry off after our baths.  It will be so much better than the 87 old towels that it usually takes!  See, it covers my entire body.  I will be fluffy and dry in no time.  Are you going to hang it back on the door knob?  I’m sure that those pesky tree rats will taunt me into running back through the mud.”

Me: “If they do, you are going to be the first one in the bathtub!  Lucky for you Luv & Emma’s towel dries super-fast.  That means that I can dry your paws no matter how many times you go outside.  Then, I just toss it in the washer and it’s ready for your bath.  The three sisters that came up with the idea for this amazing towel have a Collie named Luv and Emma the Yorkie, so they know all about the messes that two dogs of different sizes can make.  Of course, if someone has small dogs there is the original Dry Pets towel.  It is 21” x 17” and absorbs 16 ounces of water.  It also only has one hole for easy hanging instead of the two holes in the larger “Plus” towel.”

Bentley: “Does this mean that I don’t have to endure any more paper towel drying?  I really don’t like getting wiped off with a rough paper towel.  I’m a sensitive kind of fellow.”
Pierre: “I shudder to think of all the paper towel waste we’ve created.  I see that these towels are sewn right here in the good old U.S.A.  Nothing makes me happier than to have American-made products.  I wish we could share our towel with friends.  Everyone is going to want one.”
Me: “I’m glad that you mentioned that, Pierre.  Thanks to Luv & Emma’s Dry Pets, we are going to give one of our readers their very own towel.  All they have to do is enter with our Rafflecopter below.”
Bentley: “Yes!  I love to pay it forward.  Thanks for being awesome Luv & Emma’s.”

  1. Nice towel guys! I can never convince Shiner to go out when it's raining. She will hold that pee all day long before she steps foot in the rain BOL

  21. Those towels look great. Love the design too. I highly recommend using super absorbent microfiber towels.
I use my SpawDry Gloves and Towel which are perfect for small and medium dogs. Kilo loves to grab and chew any towel, but they are pretty effective after a bath, rain, mud etc. He will wipe his paws on the towel if I make it a game but hates having anyone else touch his paws. Lots of pug mess at our house. Pug Hugs Susie and Kilo

  25. Bella: You guys are lucky! Mom keeps a huge stack of old towels to dry us off, but half the time she winds up wiping me with a towel she used to soak up Koda's PEE!!

Koda: She does NOT! I Don't pee in the house!

Bella: Yeah, RIGHT! Then why was mom doing the pee pee dance in the living room when she got up this morning? She was yelling at you, I heard her!!

Koda: No she wasn’t! You lie!

Me: OK guys, that is enough! Bella, in my lap. Koda you SO peed on the floor this morning, so get your fanny in timeout for lying and for fighting about it! You kids… sigh.

  28. None of this crew minds the rain one bit. They don't understand why I try not to let them out in it. I usually have old bath towels by the door, but they really don't work that great (and don't look that great either). With 3 dogs we'd definitely need the larger size!
