If you are fortunate in life there are many times where you can say, “Bravo for special moments.” I consider myself very lucky in that respect. When Oz the Terrier asked for bloggers to join in a secret “Special Moments” blog hop, I had to make the choice of which moments I would share. Everyone knows that I share special moments with Bentley and Pierre all of the time, so I decided to do something different. Consider this a Flashback Friday complete with a Rick Springfield tee shirt!
♥ Madison Von Schloss Clinton ♥
I still remember the very first time that we decided it was time to add to our family. We had just gotten married and yearned for the pitter-patter of four tiny paws. I had three cats but wanted a puppy very badly. We decided on a German Shepherd and set out to find our new best friend. Let me tell you, we found a gem.
Her name was Madison and she remains the smartest dog that we have ever loved. Being our first, we taught her everything that she could absorb. She was an incredible Frisbee dog, competed in conformation, understood the English language as well as any child, and like all dogs, loved us unconditionally.
Actually, she loved everyone including our cats, the dogs that came later, and our children. She had such patience and never displayed any signs of anger. I don’t really recall ever hearing her growl.
It is still difficult to imagine that our time with Madison began over thirty-two years ago. Even as the years pass, the memories remain as vivid as if they just happened. Isn’t that the way it is supposed to be with best friends? To that I say, “Bravo for special moments.”
** I’d like to thank Peggy Frezon for inviting me to be a guest blogger for Guideposts. You can read my post titled, “Need a Break from Stress? Hug A Dog” here or you can visit their Facebook page. It was an extreme honor and I’d love for you to visit and leave a comment.
Today is a busy day for blogging. I am taking part in this “Bravo for Special Moments” blog hop and joining my Blogville friends for International Box Day. Of course, each Friday means it is time for the Pet Parade with my awesome co-hosts. Pick the hop that you want to participate in or just have fun hopping around to see everybody!
I love your post! So sweet. Time moves too quickly. I wish pets could live as long as we do, but I guess the upside is we get to rescue so many more and bring them into our hearts. I'm gonna have so many fur friends in heaven!

Hi new pals. What a special doggie you had. M and D used to have a doggie too that they dearly loved. Now they have me, and they dearly love me too. Some people say I'm spoiled, but I don't think so - I'm just loved.
