One of the sponsors that we were anxious to meet at BlogPaws 2015 was the Tuggo™ Toys team. Adam Harrington is the inventor of the award-winning Tuggo Dog Toy. He is a graduate of MTSU and lives in the Nashville area. Like most of us, Adam was tired of spending his hard-earned money on a tug toy that only lasted one good playtime. That is when he decided to create a destruction-resistant toy that would promote exercise, build muscle, and be extremely entertaining for his dog. The result is a tug-o-war toy that is like no other.
It is available in the hard plastic 10” ball or the 7” Tuggo Mini. Both can be filled with water, gravel, or sand, so it is customizable for every dog. That means that you can add a little or a lot depending on your dog’s size and ability. When it is empty, it only weighs one pound. If you fill it to the maximum with water, you have a twenty-pound toy! That makes it a great toy to entertain your dog when you can't play. You fill the Tuggo through the recessed screw cap. It is easy to open with a coin so there are no tools required. The unique patent-pending design allows the rope to be pulled through the ball.
After visiting the Tuggo display, they offered us our very own 10” Tuggo Dog Toy. We had a choice of sizes and three colors. I knew this was going to be a special souvenir for the third member of our BFTB NETWoof News team, our “granddog” Paisley (the Weather Lab). She is a huge fan of tug-o-war. We visited her this weekend to see if she was enjoying her new toy.
How to tell if a dog loves the Tuggo Dog Toy:
All you need is the Tuggo, an active 8-month-old puppy, and an equally active 8-year-old boy. Luckily, we had all three this weekend. It was the trifecta of a good time!
This is our friend Waylon and Paisley testing the strength of Tuggo. It looks like Paisley is trying the under grip approach. Going into the third grade and the youngest of three boys, this isn’t Waylon’s first time embattled in a game of tug.
Waylon gets a lot of practice running during his baseball games, but Paisley has just as much energy to burn. The barking and the laughing were proof that the Tuggo was a home run!
Even with both of them pulling and tugging, the rope stayed strong. Waylon and Paisley both love being outside in the fresh air and sunshine. Isn’t that why we look forward to summer? At this point, I was wishing that I had half of their energy.
This photo makes me smile. It is days like this that make the bond between a boy and a dog so precious. You can learn so much from watching them play together. Run fast, laugh loud, be silly, and have fun. Tuggo Dogs Toys let you do all four!
* A special thanks to Waylon for helping with our review.

that use to be Reilly's most favorite thing in the world - to play tug - somewhere along the years though he just stopped - or maybe it was because we just couldn't get the Boodah tugs anymore (they went out of business)

Great review and awesome photos! I can't believe this ball can get up to 20 lbs that is a good weight for a Husky to pull around and burn energy. Toy destruction is one of my Husky's greatest strengths, but I bet she wouldn't be able to destroy this one!
