This week has brought extreme cold to most parts of the U.S. Meteorologists blame the frigid weather to a ‘polar vortex’ or a huge mass of Artic air from the North Pole. I prefer the term ‘stupid cold.’
That means the temperatures are too cold for your pets to be left outdoors. It is a mistake to believe because they have
fur, that they can handle freezing weather. Limit the time they are outside and don’t hesitate to put a sweater and booties on them. Dogs and cats are susceptible to hypothermia and frostbite just as humans. Cats also tend to seek warmth on engines of cars. If your car is parked outside, honk your horn before starting the car as a precaution.
That is why, if you are on my mailing list that you have not received a blog since last Thursday. Please, know that I am working diligently trying to solve the issue. My blog emails are not only affected, but my RSS streams have also ceased. I’m very sorry for this inconvenience. Until I can get the problem corrected, please continue to stop in here for a visit.
This brings me to another technology issue of sorts. I have been working on my time management issues for 2014. The reality of how much time I spent trying to keep up with all of the different groups I have joined over the past year is staggering. In between aren’t enough hours in the day! That doesn’t even take into consideration that I have begun my third book in my series of The Returns.
That means I am taking time out today to begin deleting accounts that I am not actively involved or are not beneficial to me. It is very easy to become overwhelmed when promoting books or a new blog. Sometimes it’s necessary to let things go so we can move forward.
This leads me to admit that I must sign out of the PetsMove org. daily diary. I will still be participating in the Move Your Mutt program. Bentley, Pierre, and I have resolved to get in shape. I just know that I will fall behind on keeping up
with a diary log for the year.
That doesn’t mean that don’t support the movement completely. I certainly think it is an awesome program and urge everyone to participate. I just have to limit all of my obligations so that I have time to write, blog, work the dogs, and still have a life off the laptop. I appreciate being included and will be posting our progress every three months according to our resolutions.
This brings me to the end of my blog for today. It is This ‘N That Thursday blog hop co-hosted by 2 Brown Dawgs and Ruckus the Eskie. Thanks to you both!
That means you can click on the other great blogs below to read a little of this ‘n a little of that from other great bloggers!
I have clicked on Bloglovin. Thumbs up :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Laika! I follow you there and discovered I had four people following me but my blog was not linked. I linked it last night so I appreciate you leading me there.
DeleteGlad you are working on the feedburner issue. My mom has a fit when technology stops working...we dogs know to just leave her alone! Mom is way too busy as well, so many things going on and a real job besides. Bummer you are leaving petsmove. The diary was a hassle at first for us, but now Mom just sits down for a minute once a day and enters our walks and other stuff. We have a system that is easy and works. At some point you do have to make choices, that is a good thing. Focus on what is most important. Wish we used BlogLovin, but we simply prefer to get emails from posts so we can just delete as we read. Everyone has a preference.
ReplyDeleteThanks Emma! Tell mom the feedburner issue seems to be resolved. (paws crossed & mouth held just right) I had people following me on Bloglovin' so I linked my name with my blog but I'm still using feedburner for emails also. We are still getting off our butts and moving mutts so all is not lost, hopefully only some flab! : )
DeleteSorry to see you go from PetsMove. The Diary does have a calendar feature, so you can log all of your activity for each day at once you know...might be easier that way and you can still participate. But, whatever, the important thing is to keep moving!
ReplyDeleteI will give it another look. I seem to have times of being overwhelmed...especially when technology problems rear their cyber heads! Thanks for the encouragement.
DeleteThanks so much for participating in TNT. Oh yeah you have to bring the pets in when it is this cold. Ours are going stir crazy, but thank goodness it is warmer today and will be better by the weekend. Time management is always the issue. I think we all just do as best we can. Best of luck getting your feeds working. Technology can be maddening!
ReplyDeleteIt rained all night and has warmed up today here too. Of course, Bentley hates thunder so we had to stay awake to make sure the world wasn't coming to an end. (It didn't) Hopefully, the cyber gods are smiling on me again.
DeleteI really like how you did your "this" and then "that" very good idea!
ReplyDeleteI received your blog alright in my email this morning. Just thought I'd let you know it seems to be coming through to mine.
Great post , and Happy this n that Thursday!

Thanks! I was stunned and very happy to discover an email with my blog in it this morning. I used the tried and true, "keep pushing buttons and messing with stuff" and it must have worked! We are hopeful that all problems are corrected.
DeleteWow Polar Vortex. Those words themselves make me feel chilly. Thanks for linking up with This 'N That Thursday Blog Hop! Stay warm friend...!
ReplyDeleteI wonder how the meteorologists keep coming up with new terms for "stupid cold" and "too dang hot" every year. Thanks to you and 2 Brown Dawgs to this awesome hop. I have so much fun with the "this" and "that" aspect! : )
DeleteGreat post, nothing wrong with cutting ties and having more time. I often wonder how other bloggers visit so many sites I would like to too but your right just so much time in the day. Good luck with all your stuff you are doing.
ReplyDeleteHi Joann, Thanks for stopping by. I know exactly what you mean. I try to go to each blog on a hop but I feel rude if i don't leave a comment when I visit so it can be time consuming. It is so much fun though and I am learning so much for everyone.
ReplyDeleteI understand about the time thing. I really need more hours in the day to get things done! I need to work on my time management skills:)
