Do You Want to Make a Pupcake? Easy Recipe

When it comes to creating dog friendly treats in the kitchen, my experience consists of liver cookies.  The dogs love the smell, the humans not so much.  Since this was a big birthday for Bentley, I wanted to try my hand at pupcakes.  I used to bake and decorate cakes, so I figured dog cakes couldn’t be much different.  I began searching my favorite pet blogs that I trust for great recipe ideas.  I ended up taking bits and pieces of several and came up with a tasty recipe for the cakes and frosting.  Yes, I took a bite before giving it to Bentley.  In case it tasted gross, I didn’t want him to gag on his birthday.
This is a simple recipe and was definitely a winner in Bentley’s opinion.

Bayou Pupcakes ♥
Ingredients

2 cups of wheat flour
1 15 oz. pure pumpkin
1 egg
¼ cup pure honey
¼ cup canola oil
1 tsp. baking soda
¼ cup water
Preheat oven to 350˚  Mix all ingredients together in large bowl.  Spoon mixture into paper cupcake holders ¾ full.  Bake for 25 ~ 30 minutes.  Place on rack until completely cool.
Frosting
½ bar of fat-free creme cheese (room temperature)
½ ripe banana
Cinnamon (optional)
Mix until creamy.  Spread over cooled cakes.  Lightly sprinkle with cinnamon.  Refrigerate any leftovers.

Bentley is very lucky to have such great friends to help him with his prize package.  We are spotlighting two items each day, so that you can drool over the idea of winning.

DelcaThinkDog! has a scrumptious line of Louisiana Gator treats.  Straight from the bayou, we have a box of Alligator Dog Biscuits and Alligator Dog Biscuits w/ blueberries.  To tempt you even more, we have Alligator Jerky and Crawfish Jerky.  Our friends at Delca make awesome treats that will have your dog barking, “Laissez les bons temps rouler!!!”  You can read our review here.

Just in time for the cold weather,
Hill’s has a limited edition Winter Warmers kits.  Your canister of Chicken Consommé will be a perfect way to warm the tummy of your dog or cat.  *I mixed some to use with water in the dog bone treats recipe.  The canisters are beautiful and are wonderful stocking stuffers.  Our review is available here.
